Yep. Tells us something is up. Might also be something with Livings or Kowalski getting ir'ed

Not really. It just reinforces the idea that the Cowboys do not want to move Frederick to guard.

I hope Livings is cut rather than IR'd if Waters is signed.

Am I missing something, hans't it been assumed that Waters will be signed but hates camp and will wait until the Cowboys get back to Dallas?

And Callahan threw in this cryptic quote regarding the line as well, which would seem to mean Brian Waters is still a possibility.

We haven’t announced anything, and we’re not going to until after the game,” Callahan said. “We’ll look at some other combinations possibly or maybe just stay where we’re at. We’ll get a good evaluation.”

I caught that as well. We may be reading to much into it. Hard to tell.

I thought the same. The OP mentioned that something in Callahan's quote meant Water's signing was still a possiblity. When did it ever look like it wasn't a possiblity?

Could be Logan Mankins. ;) We don't know. :(

You can't IR someone who just had a scope and is expected back unless he has some other condition that pops up.

Well, you do know that that word means, right? People should never assume anything. They might think that, but to assume that proves nothing.

That's an easy answer. Because we have not heard from Water's on his thoughts about the matter.

It's been a possibility for a few weeks. Callahan's quote seems to indicate that it will be a reality. Of course, it would be nice if some kind of context had been given with this quote. We have no idea what question was asked that drew this response.

You wouldn't really announce that Fred was moving to G.

You can if their salary is guaranteed

Yeah, you could...

But if it was just a simple scope and they didn't/haven't found anything major, and the guy can play/contribute this season then you've just IRed the best guard the team had last season... And is that a good move?

But no info isn't a sign of a negative response. It's just a lack of response. Water's coming here after the teams gets back to Dallas has been a concept since Moore decided to retire. From that point on, the likelihood of that scenario hasn't changed. I'm just missing where it became more or less possible between when it first came up and now.

Of course, I could just be nitpicking and being pedantic... which is kind of a given :)

Well, let's just say that I hope all the talk about him coming to the Cowboys is going to happen. The Cowboys need his happy butt on the team BIG TIME.!

Except Callahan said nothing is out of the picture even moving Frederick to guard. Im not saying I like it but its a possibility with him practicing there also.

It means that Waters wants no part of coming to TC and will wait until after it ends this week. He will then join the team in enough time for the all important 3rd preseason game and that will be that. It's all good.
