I have a dictionary, if you need it. Let me know.

Our offense averaged almost 29 ppg last season, and scored 14 in the playoff game. Our defense surrendered 20.3 ppg on the season, and allowed 21 in the playoff game.

Again - let me know when you figure out which unit faded.
more clueless stats.

playoff teams tend to clamp down on offenses. how many points did 18-0 Pats "Offense" score. Lemme guess they "faded" too right.

The giants have a superbowl because their defense stepped up big time (stomped us, GB & pats) and O did just enough to win.

either way that is pointless bickering (19k posts you're a pro there) ... we're 0-for in the playoffs for reasons previously mentioned by others.

You couldn't figure it out, could you?

Or...you figured it out, and didn't like the conclusion that you came to, and chose to ignore it.

Thankfully you seem to have nailed down what "excuse" means, or at least opted to drop that line of thinking. Good move.

Six straight playoff losses may just be a result of the backend of a dynasty on the downslide, the front end of another dynasty on the rise, and a good-but-not-great team in between.

Nice summation, and it's probably not anymore complicated than that. You've got to learn to win. There's a reason Peyton Manning went so long without a playoff victory, and this incarnation of the Giants was 0-2 in bad losses before winning it all last season. These things take time, and the team with the most talent doesn't always win. You've got to work your way up.

Or you could just cheat.

I like our way better.

Thank you.

This generation of team began when Romo took over. And he hasn't even been a starter for two years now. Anything before that is irrelevant.

Give it time, people.

Funny how we survived without "leaders" right through the Green Bay game. Between TO, Crayton and Barber, there's plenty of "attitude" on offense. Romo's no shrinking violet either. Bradie is probably the most vocal guy on defense. Wade? An amiable if uninspiring journeyman who was too busy yawning in crappy commercials. Until proven otherwise, I tend to believe that a bum thumb, twisted ankle, wrapped up division, and a red-hot Giants team were our undoing.
The best bb post. Ever.:clap2:

Ware has yet to step it up as a team leader. His game is not to be questioned, but a great player doesn't necessarily equate to a great or even good, team leader...I don't view him as a voice for the team, not at this point anyways......

I think you are exactly right. Ware is a stud, no doubt. But he has not become a vocal leader yet. Haley was insanely competitive and brought a sense of urgency to the entire team that we simply do not have.

I also agree with the previous poster who commented about the seemingly complacent attitude the Boys showed after the loss to the Giants. I was sick.

Romo, Witten and Carpenter for that matter did nothing wrong going out of town on their days off. I am sure there are players in the NFL that might have travelled further than Cabo to go hunting or visit girlfriends or family, etc.

Romo erred on going to a high profile place with a high profile girlfriend as a high profile quarterback on a high profile team. And doing so in the wake of a December slide. As Aikman stated media and fan perception in efffect is everything.

Had our team moved forward in the playoffs this would have been a non-issue. That stated I hold the coaching staff accountable. How could they not learn from the December slide and that horrific loss to the Commanders even though that was a lame duck game. And how about assistant coaches going on new team interviews during this critical junction. How would the head coach react if an unrestricted key player would go job hunting during the late season stretch or the bye week.

It irked me that Wade Phillips kept spitting out that 13-whatever mantra during our subpar performances and inexplicable struggles. The experienced post season successful coaches ratchet their teams up another notch in December.

I hope we don't have another coaching year of don't worry be happy finesse performance mentality. Talent can be overcome by an opponent with great will and determination.
