Todd Archer pointed this out tonight.

Phil Costa is currently the 2nd longest tenured Cowboy on the offensive line.

That's some serious churnage in two years.

From 2008-2010, no team drafted fewer offensive linemen than the Cowboys.

And in 2010, the Cowboys had the oldest offensive line in the NFL.

And wouldn't you know it, there was a 2011.

Agreed, and I don't expect us to go from chicken crap to chicken salad this year. I just want improvement and more consistency.

Our offense can get better, but the offense, nor the OL, was the reason for most of our losses. When we had the ball last, the offense drove it well, scored to go ahead, and hardly ever ended a game with a sack.

The problem was one of the worst defenses I've seen in Dallas, and I've been a fan since '67. We couldn't Get turnovers in key situations, nor stops. Last year, if the other offense had the ball last, we were seldom surprised at giving up the winning score.

We need improvement on the OL, but it won't matter if that horrible defense doesn't improve enough to hold more leads than it gives up...last year was the worst "game on the line" defense I can remember.

2011 Ranks
Defensive Passer Rating

Giants 21st
Cowboys 25th

Offense--Rushing TD
Giants 6th
Cowboys 30th

OL was a huge factor in our losses, at least as much as pass defense.

Definitely. Just an average OL would have gotten the Cowboys into the postseason.

If you truly believe that you haven't watched the first matchup between the Cowboys and Giants this season.

I'm amazed that Romo was still able to get as many TDs through the air this last season when teams knew the pass was coming.

30th in rushing TDs is ugly.

Keep it churning I say.

Very happy with the roster changes for the 2nd offseason in a row now. Under Wade, things were pretty stale as far as new blood went. I love the way things have been going thus far.

Since 2000, the most passing TD for a team with only 4 RB touchdowns was 21. The average is 14. Dallas had 33.

Since 2000, the lowest RB touchdown total for a team with more than 30 passing TD is 9. The average is 17. Dallas had FOUR.

Looks like rather than keep a bunch of stiffs around for fear of someone being worse, we've gone the route of "keep on churning until someone sticks".

The more turnover, the higher probability of hitting on a player. I like it, to an extent.

So Air Garrett works even when we stink on the ground.

Hopefully that changes, and we can throw 33 TDs and run for 14 or more.

What makes sense is that these guys are under 30 and have a chance with a new coach and scheme.

It works until you get to the red zone, where we ranked 20th in TD percentage.

If we can get Livings playing at a high level, then that'll speak volumes about the state of the coaching staff in Cincinnati.

Yeah...that's where the 4 rushing TDs ugliness rears its head.

Percy, you're making too much sense.

I hope we can get some balance when we get to the red zone. Everyone that complains about shotgun formations at the goal line well there is your reason why in those stats. We have sucked at punching it in at the end zone for a few years now and Air Garrett works. Romo would be more successful if we could run the ball when we get to the red zone.

Evan Mathis comes to mind...
