Interesting Playoff Stat

I don't think we were sold on the Eagles last year either. They really don't care. They have their act together. I see it. Just giving credit where it's due.

Well...the difference between them and us was a late 4th qtr int in week 17 last year.

So those not totally sold on them were more right than not.

It's not like they went 13-3.

The problem with that stat is that it's not 12% compared to 100% because less than 50% of teams make the playoffs when considering ALL teams.

To make the math easy, lets say that half (50%) of teams make the playoffs each year. That would indicate that if 12% of teams that went 0-2 to start the season made the playoffs, then 24% of the teams that made the playoffs were 0-2 to start the season.

That doesn't sound right to me. Following your logic, if 48% of teams that start 8-7 make the playoffs (a made-up but plausible stat), then 96% of the teams that make the playoffs would have been 8-7?
