Interesting quote from Chris Samuels about the Texas stadium Crowd

On television, the TS crowd was noticeably loud yesterday. I was proud of them.

Aikman also made an eerie comment during the broadcast. When Romo was hit in the face by Gurode's high snap, Aikman said something like, "I think Romo was trying to change the play but the crowd was really loud".

Kind of sounded like a put down, dunno, I would have to go re-watch what he said.

The crowd was loud. VERY loud. And typically stupid. The noise during offensive series needs to stop.

There was one time on the first series that, according to Joe Buck, the crowd was unusually loud. Buck intimated that Gurode's high snap was due to the crowd noise, and I took his word at face value...until Gurode proceeded to send several more high snaps throughout the game.

And color me unimpressed with the allegedly intimidating and vociferous east coast crowds. During the Cowboys' east coast road trip, the Linc completely emptied shortly after halftime, and the Giants' crowed was a nonfactor after the first quarter.

That second paragraph has nothing to do with you, Superpunk. I'm simply consilidating my posts by mentioning it here rather than posting it elsewhere.:)

And Adams was standing up to hear Tony's audible... he just did so abruptly and got called.

Sorry, but he false started, then tried to play it off like he was trying to listen to Tony.

I did the same thing in high school, only I was a fullback so I acted like I was going in motion.

Didn't work.

Ever watch a Indy game when there at home? There is very little noise coming from there fans. The reason that is cause of all the audibles Manning does. Who gives a rats *** what there fans chant. We need to learn when and when not to cheer period!

"That crowd was so loud I didn't hear a thing all day. Playing in that hostile environment, Jason was amazing," said Commanders tackle Chris Samuels of Campbell

Maybe the 'Skins need to crank-up the piped-in crowd noise at Fedex so they'll be more used to it.

never said I did. It is always out of towners who make the texas stadium sucks threads and says the local fans are all wine and cheese sippers who dont know anything and dont cheer loud enough.

and for most of the people who make those threads they have a sample size of 1 or 2 games.

So what point are you trying to make here? The fact of the matter is that the crowd does not know when to quiet down and shut up.

They were in the rooftops when Romo was calling plays out. They were WAYYYYY loud.

That's what people have been saying. So by Chris Samuels saying this doesn't surprise me. Why? Because the entire crowd was loud the ENTIRE game.

You have no point on this theebs. You are just throwing stuff out hoping it will stick.

And for the record, just because someone doesn't live in Texas doesn't mean they've never been to Texas stadium. Believe it or not, you don't know someone's history just from where the "Location" tag says on the forum.

Astute.

I think I have made my case pretty clearly, you are just bitter.

Since so many out of towners on this board are experts on why us local fans suck, I would like to add Chris Samuels comments to the list of compliments paid to the TS crowd by opposing players....

I was there...I did my part to be loud when the Commanders had the ball. Drank my beer when the Cowboys had the ball....:)

I thought the crowd got pretty fired up yesterday. I know all the regulars in my section were really getting after it. Plus, there were a lot of 'skins fans there talking ****. In fact, one Commanders fool in my section got his arse arrested in the first quarter.

Didn't work.

It worked for me. :))

I was the LT, and we put in a package for one week where the backup LT would come in and play tackle, and I would line up basically as a TE on the outside of the LT. I jumped the snap, and then it clicked, motion...go in motion, so I started shufflling to the right to the other side...ball snapped, play was called of course to run outside of me, but I was now on the other side. 4 yard loss - prob. would have been better to take the flag!! :laugh1:

Being at the game, the crowd was very loud when the Redsk*ns were on offense.

Some of the noise when we were on offense (especially third down) was from the Skins fans in attendance, but some of it was definitely from cowboys fans who were overly excited. I was trying to "shush" the fans in my area, and it worked to some degree.

There was one time early in the game when we had a third down and the crowd got downright loud. Romo clearly was having a hard time calling the play, and the crowd seemed to notice and quieted down a bit... so obviously a good portion of the noise was coming from our fans.

Umm they were not wayyy loud, when we were on offense the skins fans chanted but it quickly subsided. It was not loud in the stadium at all when we were on offense.

I thought it was very loud when the Skins had the ball and noisy when we had the ball.

Just going by what I heard on TV.

I have always wondered if it's because of where the cameras are located, top of TS, that the crowd seems quiet?

The crowd noise on TV comes via the field for the most part. Those dudes that hold those big dish looking things, those are the mics.

If we move the cheerleaders to the noisy sections, would that help quiet the crowd?

Maybe Romo, when he gets under center should start waving his arms up and down to tell the crowd...."hey shut the hell up"!
