Interesting Reeves Q&A

I think most fans on this forum are being too hard on Reeves. I read another statistical breakdown where he put up numbers similar to Asante Samuel, the premier free agent CB. I know Reeves played poorly in the playoff game against the Giants, but to be fair, several players had sub par performances in that game.

Also, fans are forgetting that this was Reeves first year starting in a new defensive scheme and the coaches purposely had him play off receivers with a big cushion. In his second year, Reeves should not only be better but play with more confidence.

I say the 'Boys resign him and draft another CB in the first round and let the two of them battle it out for the #3 CB position. They've invested several years in developing Reeves, why not reap the benefits of this investment.

Reeves has speed but no feel for the CB position. I sure hope better talent makes him expendable soon. And the sooner - the better.

I'd bring Reeves back. How many great #3 CB's are there?

You have to wonder why he wasn't given any safety help during the Giants. Especially during that drive just before the half. But wait....

We'll be very lucky to keep Reeves.

My guess...Jerry will have to write a check for about 3-4 mill per...

Unless you want to draft 2 corners in April.....

Reeves is OK as a #4. That is all. He played worse as the season went along. He has had 4 years here to learn and when he played a lot he got worse. Nuff said. Think about this: he gave up 7 TDS and 884 yds playing just a few games as a starter and the rest as the #3. Dre Bly was a full time starter and playing opposite of Champ Bailey so OF COURSE he got a lot of passes thrown his way. And Denver had no pass rush.

I don't know if Reeves is worth keeping. He never seemed to step up in big situations. If he has reached his potential then the Cowboys need to look elsewhere. I can't see that he is worth a $3-4 mil paycheck when we are struggling to hold on to obviously better players. We'll see.

I'll say it again, I wouldn't mind keeing Jacques around

me too -- he played well at times and got burned late in the season when all eyes were on him. Cbs get burned. What he gave us when Newman and Henry were down contributed a great deal to our great start.

That's the key for me. Bly played against receivers who had consistently 5-7 seconds to get separation.

Ugh, he had Roy. The Giants basically killed two birds with one stone.

but how many Int's did Bly have? if memory serves me correctly, Reeves only had one- and that was in the opener when the Wr fell coming out of his break. You can come up for statistics for anything... bottom line is Reeves is terrible and if he still around next year, Jerry has failed to improve the team.

By these numbers, Jacques Reeves gave up a 95.1 QB rating to our opponents QBs. Our team's total opponents' QB rating was a 75.1. That means, other than Reeves, our pass defense gave up a 68.2 QB rating.

68.2 QB Rating for the pass defense for passes not at Reeves. 95.1 QB rating against Reeves.

So, who wants to keep this guy? I personally don't want this POS anywhere near the field.

I've said the same thing.

If we can get a hometown deal bring him back.

I dont think the guy has reached his ceiling and can still grow as a player.

I think so too, improvement for a football player is possible.

Furthermore, like it was said, he does have a year of playing against quality starters under his belt.

Maybe you guys missed it, but Roy was playing the nickel linebacker role on that drive. "Safety help" would have come from Hamlin.
