In 1986 in his 4th year with the Giants Parcells won the SB.

In 1996 in his 4th year with NE Parcells got to the SB.

2006 will be his 4th year in Dallas.

Here's hoping it's a 10 year cycle that has a 20 year cycle thrown in for good measure.

What's amazing is he's turned us from a perennial loser into a team that can actually think winning the Super Bowl is within reach.

Super Bowl bound next season. We fix the OL, get a promising Kicker, a FS, add more depth to the LB position and there is a possibilty that we could make an SB run

Go to SB 41 boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will take a miraculous offseason to improve this team to the point where it contend for the SB. There is little growth potential internally on the offensive side of the ball and I don't think there are enough impact players on the defensive side of the ball to create a dominant defense.

The goal this offseason should be to add more quality players to fill the numerous holes on our mediocre team.

We also need to stop overpaying 30+ year old players playing non-impact positions. You fill these positions through the draft and vets making reasonable coin - you don't break the bank on players like Ferguson and Rivera. We did things right with Aaron Glenn (reasonable contract) and Henry - youngish player at impact position (CB).

Hopefully BP and JJ have learned from the mistakes of 2004 (did nothing) and 2005 (see above).

I think we are likely at least two years away in a best case scenario.

More likely, we will have to wait for BP to retire, bring in a new coach and then wait another 2-3 years for him to undo the mess BP will leave us with.

Keep in mind all things are fixable and within this one offseason too.

The weakened NFC, why not the Cowboys.

As is , if we scored 1 more TD in ever game, we woulda been in the playoffs. So with improved experience, talented youth and key FA pick ups, we could be heavy favorites to get to te SB.

There was some other weird numerology as well that said Jacksonville would beat New England.

listen guys...every time Parcells got a losing season, before last season, he got 10 wins. These stats are just...stats. It is hard for me to not see us in 4th in the NFC East, how can we make the Super Bowl

Do you follow the NFL at all? Every team cycles themselves from also ran to playoff contender, well except Arizona.

It's called parity. I'm trying to think of any other teams that haven't made the playoffs this century (starting at 2000, not 2001 you purists).

Color me unimpressed.

Gotta get a consistently good QB in here before we win another SB.

Bledsoe is much better than we've had the past few years, but next year we will see just another version of the Bledsoe that's played the last several seasons, with just another year of age on him. That isn't gonna get it done, if your goal is winning the SB.

There aren't many teams in the league that can't say the same thing.

We split with the Giants, and could have won both.

We should have split with WAS.

We swept the Eagles and they had TO and McNabb the first time around.

That was with a new scheme on D dependant on a lot of young players, injury riddled OL and LB corps, and no kicker.

Injuries and playing up to expectations is the key. THAT and a good kicker.
O line shake up and a FS. That is not all that much to do in one offseason.
Had we had a good kicker we would, even with the O line problems, had been in the playoffs. Change 2 starters on the O line with upgrades, get a decent FS, and a GOOD kicker. If we accomplish those 4 changes and do not have critical injuries- we could very well be in SB 41.

Oh well, screw it then, since we cant be positive in any way.

man, we suck, Why didn't we just fire Parcells. I hope we trade Roy and JJ for David Carr. No need to fix the Oline, since its all Bledsoes fault, we get Carr, we can cut Bledsoe.

Then we will have a young QB and win the superbowl. nevermind the fact he sucks, hes young and thats all you need. hey, why didn't that work for Carter, Henson and Romo, they are young. I dont get it. Why does someone elses young QB make us better then the QB's we have on the team. They are good but old in Bledsoe, back up material at best but young in Romo and Sucky but young in Henson.

oh well, since we aren't gunna be postitive in any way I suppose it dont matter why. Common sence never entered into a mob mentality either, why should it here.

Oh well, I am off to find a happy board wher Cowboy fans are gunna be optomistic and upbeat and not find every single thing wrong withthe team and magnify that as if it were the rason we are 9-7 and out of the playoffs.

Drama queen much?

The Cowboys just had the worst collapse in team history. The Deadskins are in the playoffs.

Good luck finding that board.

I know you are more than smart enough to know that the NYG, WASH and PHILLY are not gonna stand still or take a step back if they can help it...

Bill came in around the same time as Coughlin...who has done a better job?

Gibbs came in a year later who has done a better Job?

and as far as Philly I expect them to be very strong this coming season...

4th is about right until proven otherwise I think

I totally agreee with you. Of the coaches that came in around the same time the BP came in, Bp is doing the worst job.

The difference is that all but Commanders did it by aquiring a young, stud QB, who is now coming into his own. Cincy, Jax, NYG, Wash, Chi (2 young QB's).

I know some will argue about how Bledsoe is better or that Henson is on the bench, fact is that these other coaches made the decision to build their teams starting with a QB, and are pretty much set for quite a while.

Yet we wallow here with a cast off QB, ( pretty good one) but not in his prime, or with much of an upside. I wish that BP would have gone with Romo or Henson from the time he got here.

The only team on your list who made the playoffs because of their QB is Cinncy.

Leftwich missed half the season, Eli is not that good (yet?), Orton was terrible for Chicago, and Rex no better yet. If you think Chicago is even sniffing the playoffs without that defense your insane.

Furthermore Cinncy is on its 3rd #1 overall pick QB in the last decade. They wasted time and top picks on QBs that didn't work out, and were awful for years because of it.

I'd rather build a team first.

There were reasons for that. It's not like we went 5-11 again. We still finished with 9 wins. We just went through one of the best rebuilding years in a long long time. Focus on the big picture here.

We got what we thought was going to be our QB of the future just as those other teams you mentioned. It just so happens that ours didn't work out and that is NOT BP's fault.
