That's good to know. You never know which spin to buy, but if he was fighting for pensions for the older players during his tenure as a player rep, then he has a lot of credibility.

I agree, and in his year and a half on that post he has not had a single return phone call from DeMaurice Smith.

I find in interesting that the NFL Alumni are not opposed to the NFLPA but feel like they are being treated like step children and they have no vote in any of the matters at hand all they wanted to do was meet face to face with Smith and the guy refuses to meet with Martin

The guy making the argument against the NFLPA was a former NFLPA President, or didn't you bother to read before throwing out your ready-made agenda? Read the articles posted again, then figure out why you look like a complete fool in this regard.

Specifically, look at WHEN Martin was the President of the NFLPA. Look at how he was completely spurned by the current NFLPA for 18 months.

Then there was an exchange between him and a fan. Fan was asking why De Smith and the NFLPA hadn't return George Martin's phone calls. Nolan disputes that and says George hasn't attempted to meet with the NFLPA either.

The last part is Andrew Brandt basically confirming that there are two competing former player groups. One under the NFLPA and one under the NFL. Then responded to a couple questions about whether the negotiations could resume.

Anyways, I was just sharing because of the thread topic.

Thought the exchange between Nolan and George was interesting. They seem to have have the same goals, but clearly aren't on the same page as to how to achieve it.
