interesting take on snyder and skins

This kind of post riggo is not needed. Are you an english professor ? A magazine or book editor ? Bashing grammar errors, and typos is kinda lame.

You see a post like that, you read, you laugh, you comprehend, and you ignore. No need to reply to something if you dont understand it.

i wouldnt bash grammar or typos per se. theres no excuse for not using a spacebar, however. that's just annoying.

It's total Washington envy ...

Not really, this would have been directed at other teams we hate like Philly, San Francisco, or Pittsburgh had they been going nuts in free agency like Washington has.

The envy regards offseason activity itself, not the actual substance of the team. Kosier and Ayodele will improve the Cowboys and signed reasonable contracts; they just aren't the sexy splashes people can brag about.

The grass is always greener-- had Dallas traded a 3rd and 4th pick or paid starter money for backup WRs we'd have seen red on this site. I mean, give me Ayodele over Andre Carter any day-- one is the picture of consistency while the other is yet another gamble on a former 1st round pick.

here's what was said about gibbs and RE. the man knows how to get what he wants.

The final touch that told Antwaan Randle El Washington was the place for him was not anything Commanders coach Joe Gibbs said to him, but a request Gibbs made of him.

"He asked to speak to my wife," Randle El said at a news conference yesterday. "She was kind of blown back by that."

Gibbs is an expert at such small touches. And that, plus millions more in bonus money than the Chicago Bears were offering brought Randle El, perhaps the top wide receiver available in free agency, to the Commanders.

I'll let them give Randal El a 30 million dollar contract considering the guy has never had more than 50 catches in a season. I'll let them sign Adam A. on the downside of his career. So far we've filled more holes with our Kosier and Ayodale signing, than the Skins have with their two signings.

Brandon Lloyd was asked by Thompson maybe what he had heard about the Commanders throughout the league and Lloyd answered something like "they pay a lof of money" It's not like the first thing he said when he came on the show was "im rich #$#*!" cmon dont make it seem something its not Ljs44

I had no intention of making it anything other than what it was.

I actually think it was a good signing, but I thought is was telling that the first thing he could think of when asked what he heard about the skins was the pay alot. Not that they are up and coming after a good finish. Not that the team had gotten a legit OC. Nothing but the money.

I read that he's a prima-dona, and that comment seemed to back that up.

A question for Riggo and SkinsandTerps:
How long do you both envision Gibbs coaching for? I think your situation is similar to ours in that neither Parcells or Gibbs will be coaching for more than 5 years. I do however think that Washington is set for life after Gibbs with both Williams and Saunders waiting in the wings.

More than 5 years seems unlikely to me. I think it is part of the reason fans are so excited, and Snyder is so willing to spend this season.

Unlike Parcells, Gibbs has stated that he expects to fully honor his 5 year contract. Parcells is like Brett Favre, every year people are going to wonder and form an opinion. However if Gibbs wins another SB before that 5 years is up, I expect him so sidestep into his President role and promote from within.

Williams probably would be the #1 candidate for the job IMO. I am not certain if Saunders wants a HCs position, similar to Jim Johnson (Eagles), Tom Moore (Indy) and Monte Kiffen (TB).

Thats just my take on it.

hopefully, gibbs will be here for at least 2 more years. i agree that with williams and saunders both here- and with snyders willingness to pay coaches- they should be ok.

What other year besides 2000 did we go on a crazy spending spree compared to this offseason?? Boy, do you guys love talking about the skins here.

Whats wrong with him being honest? Besides he did follow up by talking about the skins are up and coming and being excited to be in this offense. That was the only thing he mentioned about the money.

One way to solve that problem is to just leave and then you won't have to be annoyed. :D

Color me unimpressed with their free agency haul so far...

How many probowl games have any of these new signees (or tradees) appeared in? Are any of them considered to be in the Top-10 of their respective positions?

I think the whole whoopla is about nothing.

Taken out of context. I heard the John Thompson (yes, the former Hoyas coach) Show with both Lloyd and Randle El.

Seems to be taken out of context. From what I recall. Lloyd was a little cocky and all but not to the point where he seemed more interested in money than winning.

I heard the broadcast and what he said was that when he found out that washington was intrested in talking to him some players on the 49ers team (K. Barlow) said that "You bout to get paid"...LOL....

you may be right- el and lloyd havent done anything to earn that claim yet.

but, you're not going to be able to field a team of moss, moss, and harrison at WR. everybody thought coles for moss was a bad deal at the time. brunell was considered washed up.

i'll bet gibbs will have them playing well.

Hey, could they turn out to be "great"? You bet. But my sneaking suspicion is that they neither will get the catches they desire. They are very functional players. El, Daniels, Achu... They are "OK".

I don't think either of the FA's Dallas signed are world-beaters either.
