Interesting that Dallas OL is middle of the road in pass protection

This is false.

The % of hurries we've had over the past 3 years has been among the league's best. But that doesn't consider how the scheme forces our QB's to hold onto the ball longer than most of the league..

As far as this season goes, we are 5th in Adjusted Sacks allowed rate by FO.com. That's with a rookie QB and the 4 teams ranked better than us have schemes where the ball gets out of the QB's hand quicker.

Not to forget that we had 3 games without Tyron Smith and I don't think he's fully healthy either.

Disagree. Romo has been a miracle worker in avoiding sacks and pressure and Dak has been exceptional at it as well. Free is constantly giving up early pressure.

They are significantly better in the run game.

Romo has caused more sacks because he has held onto the ball longer. His 'miracle' work occured when the O-Line wasn't very good. His average time held onto the ball is a direct reflection of the scheme and it's much longer than the NFL average.

The % of pressures over the past few years, even in 2013 and 2014 with Romo is one of the lowest in the NFL. You can't work much of a miracle if you don't get pressured much to begin with.

Yep. that great pass protection. SMH. And Smith has been getting beat inside so Dak can't step up.

Pass protection this season is significantly better than previous years

I'd like to see some stats that support this

The protection may seem better because we're in less 3rd and long situations, as well as threatening teams with more screens and QB takeoffs. The DAK Effect
