I don’t know why they don’t allow every team an international active roster exemption for one player, but exclude kicker and punter from that exemption. That way there would be 32 international players on an NFL roster, and it would help the game, help the player and help the team.

Alarcon is deemed as the best offensive lineman in all of Mexico. I have seen him move Dlinemen backwards. I can't find a definitive scouting report, but he holds his own.

I like this guy. Hard Knocks features him a bit during the Texans’ game. I thought he looked pretty darn good.

  • Does not count against the practice squad player limit.
  • The team is required to keep the player for the season.
  • Can't be signed to his team's 53 or any team's 53 for the season.

• If team does not take IPP exemption for regular season:
  • Same rules as all practice squad players.

If they think Alacorn might have any future in the NFL, IPP Exemption is the way to go. No impact to the cap or the PS roster. But for his PS salary, he's a free player.

Alarcon seems like a better guard than Knight. Knight has the advantage that he can play OT too.

If the Cowboys go with Steele and Nsehke as backup OTs then the battle becomes Knight vs Alarcon vs Braylon Jones (who also has played center).

If the Cowboys go with Steele and Knight as backup OTs, then Alarcon might be looking at PS without the IPP exception. Unless Alarcon balls out today or a Cowboy OL gets hurt.

We could use another backup interior olineman. Developmental is still good, as the need gets greater with Williams leaving in 2022, then McGovern and Knight in 2023.

I don’t think Williams is leaving next year. At least, I hope not. Williams is the type of player I would like to see re-signed. Practices hard, plays hard, gives it his all, never a problem off the field, etc.

McGovern is pretty much just a backup.

I like Williams, but I don't see how we afford yet another Olinemen making in the teens. We'll be over 100mil just for Dak and the oline. LG is a good position to spend less.

Isaac Alarcón (#60 @ Left Guard) has greatly improved from last year to this year. I believe it would be a BIG mistake to lose him to another team.

I agree 1000% .. he is as good or better than Steele and with a bigger upside. We have seen Steele and he is what he is which is awful. Just because he also plays OT just as awful makes him better? Don't get it.

I’ll be shocked if Knight makes the team this year. He is way down the OT list, not a top backup at OG, and has had a miserable camp and preseason. He’s had enough time with Dallas to show he has no potential.

I think Steele hangs on as he has now had his first offseason and training camp and has at least made progress. They will likely keep Alarcon around too.
