Interviewing while in the playoffs?

I find it odd and possibly distracting but then again the system is set up the way it is. Don't blame anyone for interviewing if they truly want another opportunity.

Terrible idea, should not be allowed but there is a reason. Coaches on good teams are disadvantaged because they are still playing. And it's only for promotional positions.

Yep. Teams that are still playing should decline the interview requests.

It’s an awful rule. It’s not any different to me than Romo going to Cabo IMO.

What does the team think when your coach is out interviewing? Someone like Parsons?

I have no problem with it. These coaches have to do what is best for them. Owners can fire them anytime so it is not like they have all kinds of security.

I think even the league hates it, but it’s a huge disadvantage to staff on playoff teams if they can’t interview. And with expanded playoffs it’s a lot of people

They have guaranteed contracts so they get paid either way. Firing a coach is not like cutting a player
But while I don’t like the distraction, it’s the right thing to do for these staffs. They want to advance their careers and with expanded playoffs it’s a lot of people
It’s one of those things that’s a necessary evil
I hate it myself but I think the old system hurt peoples chances to advance their careers

The solution is simple. Wait until the playoffs / SB are finished before allowing any interviews or hires. Problem solved
