Intriguing rundown by Don Banks, so I pose the question to Cowboys fans

Stanback gets his chance really surprised me.

There seems to be a real yearning for Stanback to show his stuff and emerge as No. 2 over Crayton and in the absence of a RW or Chad.

I think it has more to do with us really hoping there are good young receivers on the team, and right now, Stanback is our greatest hope. Maybe because we haven't seen him.

I voted for our new leader Zach thomas. but if i could've chose to I would've also voted for the rise of spencer/fall of the crybaby. gotta laugh at how many votes stanglass got.

You typed in the word leader with a straight face?

;)

It may be if the braintrust isn't blowing hot gas and Stanback turns out to be as advertised, the WR question as we know it could change completely, and for the better.

I for one hope Stanback has 'it'.

That would be No. 6.
Stanback gets his chance (and emerges as a starter)

And I think many here are focusing on him and that happening. Seems to be doubts about Crayton. it worried me to no end when Jerra foolishly showered him with extra money last year. Though jerra's heart is in the right place (in his middle left chest) Crayton will be known as a journeyman and will disappear when Stanback emerges and when or if either RW or Chad come on board.
I wanted one that included all the WRs. I think Miles Austin can be a really good one too. I just can't forget the drop against the Skins though. Or even Hurd, for some reason I think he will be better than what most think.

I am hoping that those WRs went out and worked on their techniques and fundmentals and improved their game. I want to see them compete for a starting position and prove to everyone that Jerry knew what he was doing by not drafting WRs.

Didn't Stanback get injured relatively quickly last year? Was it even in a game? Last thing we need is a project made of glass. Here's my projections for Stanback:

1) Chance of Starting: 10%
2) Chance of Seeing Significant Playing Time: 20%
3) Chance of Playing At All: 50%
4) Chance of Getting Injured Early On: 70%

I think you are confused...he was never healthy when we got him, he was recovering from a major injury in college

David

the one he left off may be the real "most intrigue"

"does Dallas trade for Roy Williams, Chad Johnson or Anquan Boldin"

I thought he had a shoulder injury later in the year. Maybe I was dreaming or it was someone else.

...found it.

Cowboys | Stanback recovering from offseason surgery

Rob Phillips, of DallasCowboys.com, reports Dallas Cowboys WR Isaiah Stanback (shoulder) is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.

From another article:

Watkins was replaced late in the game by Keith Davis after spraining his ankle, and Phillips said Stanback hurt his shoulder in his NFL debut as the team's primary kickoff returner.

he hurt his shoulder on i think the 1st kickoff return at philly

To me, I voted for A Jones and Jenkins getting trained because our DB situation last year left alot to be desired. I'm hoping everyone is onboard and fully healthy for a long stretch run. Jenkins will learn from Newman/Henry/Jones which is great OJT training if you ask me.

Is TERRY GLENN Healthy?

It seems strange to me that no-one gets how crucial this is. I Chose Stanback in this poll because the MOST important question wasn't even listed.

Was it crucial last season? We did great without him. We didn't start really doing poorly until he came back ;)

Glenn isn't the answer or the problem. Cut him once Stanback takes his spot from him... hopefully training camp and preseason.

Unbelievable... as of this posting, 8 people care more about Jessica than football. Obviously, you are in the wrong place. Here is the website you are looking for.

Mariah and Nick Cannon married?!?!?!?

Err... I mean, Go Dallas! I have to go and get another beer now.. uhm, yeah...

people have spoken and its the stanback rise! I personally am waiting for Spencer just to take off this yr and help us become the best D in the league, I think he is gonna be great for us

I voted Stanback, this team has no real hole on the ENTIRE roster going into this season assuming everyone stays healthy. Stanback is the great wildcard he could be nothing or potentially make this team even better.

yes. well leader on defense that is.

I respectfully disagree.

Ware was working his tail off and fighting his way into the opposing backfields while little ZacK (who can't dance) was beginning his decline in Miama.

It riles me up to think that my Zoner brothers would say Zach is the leader on defense when we should respect Ware for what he is: a monster LB and the future of the Dallas defense.

Again, my esteemed Zoner brother, give Ware his due.
No Miama guy comes in and takes over before he has played a down.

ware is a different kind of leader-he leads by example. but 90% of the time all he is worried about is getting to the qb. Zach will also be leading by example but he is also gonna be helping bradie make sure everyone is lined up correctly and where they gotta be. Also Zach was hardly on a decline since his #s through 6 games matched the guy who he just replaced for the whole season. he wasn't on a decline he was hurt. Zach has also been playing pro ball since before Ware was in highschool. he has a lot more expierence including winning playoff games.

If you were going more for scare instead of reassure... Success.
