Anyone else upgrade yet? It was released around 1pm EST today. I got my download complete around 2:30PMEst, but the update servers were flooded with traffic for apple and my update just started going through at around 10:00PM.

I'm waiting for my 4s to come in. I read the servers for the update were flooded and hard to get through. Hopefully I won't have to go through any of that. I think the 4s comes with ios5 already.

got mine all done about 2 pm central time, no problems

like the reminders and the camera button, havent messed with much else

I tried to upgrade this evening but it kicked me out. It started downloading and said "8 hours remaining" which I was cool with (figured I would just leave it on all night) but then eventually it gave me an error message saying, of all things, there was something wrong with my network connection.

Eh, no big deal. I don't care if I have to wait a week or so. I'm perfectly happy with the way my iPhone 4 has worked these past 14 months so I don't see any urgency for the new bells and whistles.

It probably will need an update anyway, although not the whole kit-n-kaboodle. They always have last minute changes that don't make it to the factory floor.

I read somewhere that some upgrades are going bad. Even bricking the device. I suggest you hold off until the issues are resolved.

I suggest Googling "iOS 5 brick" before doing the upgrade.

So, if I buy a new iPad 2 will it come preinstalled, or will I have to download the upgrade?

LMAO, some of the changes in IOS 5 is a blatant copy of Android.

Instead of the pop up notification on the iphone, it now scrolls across the top, like android.

Iphone now has a pull down noti bar, like android.

Putting the camera button on the unlock screen. Android can do this with any app, not just the camera.

The wireless sync from the phone to the computer is neat. I might be brain farting but I don't believe Android can do this? I might be wrong.

I know dropbox allows a user to wireless sync from computer to phone though.

Sort of like me being "helpful" to Eagles and Commanders fan friends of mine when I'm trying to make them realize the Cowboys are superior? :D :D

I don't hate Apple. My hate died a few days ago. :/

Went do do this update this morning. Found out I had to update my itunes software first. By the time that was done I went to update the phone software and it said it could take up to an hour so I just stopped there as I had to get to work.

Might try it this evening.

I think they're all pretty much just a bunch of blatent copies of each other. :D

FWIW, to share my personal experience with the group, I failed at getting my upgrade last night but then I clicked the option "Download only" instead of "Downloand and update". The download took about 10 minutes and then I clicked "update" once the download completed.

My phone is running a bit slower (no surprise) so far today but this is nowhere near the disaster I experienced when I tried to update my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4 last summer.

I've been running iOS 5 for a week thanks to the gold master.

No issues because I was one of probably 6 people updating at the time :laugh1:

But I like it a lot. Brings the iPhone into the here and now for smart phone OSes, finally.

I hope it bricks mine.

My cameral lens is scratched to hell. I wouldn't mind a new phone.

Turn it off while it's upgrading. That should do it. :laugh2:
