I say let IReland go and take Stanback with him!

(Agenda alert! I don't believe in Stanback.)

I have never heard of a person interviewing for a job from a prospective employer that he has no desire to work with people within that organization... What do you think Ireland is going to say if he sees a possible move upwards?

BTW, I thought Parcells taught everything to Jerry and built the team, and here is Parcells raiding Dallas for Jeff Ireland, the head of Dallas' scouitng department..

Why does eveyone think that BP is so suffocating that no one can work with him, yet people seem to follow him wherever he goes?

Because to deviate from the two dimensional Bill Parcells stereotyped caricatures would blow our minds.

I don't know why everyone is making this so difficult. It's really not complicated. Parcells' job is to instill his "blueprint" in the organization ...a blue print that has now turned around 3 consecutive inept organizations. He knows certain types of players and how to coach that certain type of player. He's going to hire people already familiar with the "blueprint" to evaluate and coach those type of players, so he doesn't have to.

Bill Parcells likes being around football, but he's not at an age anymore where he's able or willing to work 18 hour days. When March rolls around, Parcells is going to want to go hang out with Tony LaRussa and watch spring training baseball, not end up locked up in a filmroom somewhere watching tape of some guy from Saginaw Valley and sleeping on a cot. So Parcells is going to hire a young guy to work the 18 hour days for him. Jeff Ireland is already well versed in the "blueprint", apparently enjoys working with Bill, will immediately get a promotion the first day he works in the door and be on the fast track to get another one four years from now. Plus, just in case you haven't noticed, everyone aside from a few bitter Cowboy fans and Dallas media, Parcells is pretty much universally respected. It doesn't hurt you to be associated with him in any way, shape or form. Look at his coaching tree and his personnel evaluation tree. Does it look like they're having problems finding jobs? Ireland would be an idiot not to take the job. What's so complicated about this that people can't understand? Oh yeah, we're still caught up in that juvenille "Bill Parcells is a big ole meanie and no one wants to work with him cuz he gives people feelings' ouchies" nonsense. Ugh, these are grown men and professionals. Not characters in your own imagined Falcon Crest soap.

Finally, Jerry is not going to fight this. Huizinga and Jerry and good friends, and Jerry owes a huge favor to Huizinga for the Garrett thing.

I do think he will fight it if they want Ireland immediately. He has pretty much said that is where he draws the line.

He'll probably ask for a "favor", whether it be draft day consideration or a gentlemen's agreement to leave the rest of the scouting staff alone.

I will say this, at some point or another, we will trade with the Dolphins during the draft or the offseason. Or both. The relationships are just too strong.

do you honestly think that any team would pull that trade?
I honestly believe JJ would do that trade. Now, whether BP & the 'Fins go for it is a totally different thing.....
