You'll have to forgive any spelling errors, I've been drinking at a record pace for the past two hurs...

Tonight has proven that we have the most mindless fanbase in football. Yes, tonight sucked. I'd go so far as to say I've never been this upset. I'm not denying this was an epic collapse, because it it was. It was pathetic...in fact, beyond pathetic, I was historical. I've been as big a Jason Garrett basher as there is, and Romo and the offense have not escaped my wrath either. Every part of this team has sucked at one time or another.

However, those blaming Romo, Garrett or Ware tonight are pathetic and don't know footbnall. Period. Romo played great, had a 141 QB rating. Ware had SIX QB pressures, the most in the NFL today. Garrett called a great game offensively. The vast majority of the anger is misdirected tonight. This game falls squarely on Rob Ryan, the one guy I havent ripped on this year. His defense didnt show up in the clutch. It choked in epic fashion and may have just cost us our season. The offense gave us a 12 point lead with 5 minutes to play, we have NEVER lost a game like that in our history...and yet we did tonight.

So, be mad. Be irate. Be so angry it makes you put a fist through the wall. However, please don't direct your anger at the wrong people because its the cool thing to do.

Actually, you're just as wrong. The anger should really be directed at Jerry Jones for putting this crap roster together and hiring a not yet ready for prime time guy to coach them.

I understand what you are saying and just because Garrett called a good game doesn't not mean he managed the game very well tonight. I think we saw that in the 3rd quarter when we went shot gun pass pass pass pass pass pass sack etc... Those are the frustrating things he doesn't seem to know when to call a TO. I will also point to the 2 point conversion chart at what point do you consider going for 2? You realize this defense isn't stopping them so you better put yourself in position to tie or win the game. I just feel that there were instances again you can point to were Garrett screwed the pooch. If he had balls he would go to RR and say he make some adjustments this isn't working. I have been banging on Romo all season and tonight the dude played out of his mind.

The defense needs an overhaul. Good passing offenses will carve us up.

Lee, Ware, Rat and Jenkins (when healthy) are good.

Spencer, Spears, Lissemore, Sensabaugh and Elam are solid

And you can look at my sig to see who needs to be gone.

Well put. I, however, remain firm in my argument that too many cowards are on this team and in the fan base.

Great post. I am glad to see you are not going to hang this loss on Jason Garrett. If a person on this forum does not like Garrett then they go out of there way to bash him even when it is not his fault. The same can be said about Romo. There are to many people on this board that hidden agendas when it comes to a certain coach or player. Try to look at it objectively. Give blame when blame is due.

I told my wife at some point we will go for two to make up that stupid safety, we just had too. Time kept passing and I stuck to it, this is the TD they go for two. Wow, she looked at me like I had no clue what I was talking about.

More stats but not the most important stat at the end of the day - a WIN as in 8 victories instead of 7.

I think Ware and Romo are great players. But what you fail to understand is the reason we consider them great. We expect them to do something that delivers the win. So if they're great in giving us six QB pressures or throwing for four touchdowns, we expect them to do even more to deliver a victory.

We don't expect them to jump offsides giving the Giants a 1st and 5 instead of a 2nd and 20. We expect them to complete a pass to an open receiver on a blitz.

To whom much is given, much is required.

So I can't sweat those critical of Romo or Ware.

Honestly, I'm kind of neutral. I didn't think this team was ready for the playoffs this year so I'm not totally disappointed in the bigger scheme of things.

But I think those with your perspective need to understand that there are fans here who want our playmakers to do something to deliver the victory.

What's wrong with that?

Here's the thing though...

When you ask superstars to make every play, you will lose. This is the ultimate tam sport. Even Brady and Rodgers don't play perfect. Romo played amazing football, but he makes one mistakes that shouldnt have even matterd and hes a choker. Why is it on him instead of the defense? Why is it on Ware instead of the rest of the defense?

If Newman doesnt drop that pick 6, we win. If Free doesnt miss that block, we win. If Church doesnt blow that coverage, we win. If Bailey doesnt miss that kick, we win.

But no, we only focus on Romo ad Ware and Garrett. And this is coming from a guy who has ripped them endlessly.

This was part Garrett's fault.

Your defense is getting burned consistently by blitzes. At one point, Manning is just throwing up prayers and killing your secondary. If you, the head coach know that (and you should, you are standing there watching it), then you would tell your DC (who works underneath you) that the blitzes are not working and we need to try something else; you tell him to make an adjustment. The fact that the blitzes continued meant he was either clue as to what's going on the field or he was okay with it.

Garrett as HC has to be aware of everthing going on with the team, so he is just as much to blame as the defensive staff.

The fact that he is still misusing timeouts is a bit concerning.

No, but he did decide to keep the band of hasbeens and never weres around on defense. That makes him the guiltiest party of all.

Garrett deserves blame. He's the head coach of the team.

Rob's defense sucked in the 4th today but I think it's becoming more apparent week-in and week-out that he has a whole bunch of sub-JAG players to work with.

Parcells wanted to shop for the groceries.

Rob walked into a kitchen with Top Ramen and Spam and was asked to create a meal worthy of fine dining. It's tasted pretty good at times but at this point, I'm getting real sick of Top Ramen and no amount of garnish is going change the fact that it's Top Ramen.

Dallas has 1 pass rusher, Ware.

They have 1 other really good player on defense, Lee.

They have 1 pretty good, but not great, CB in Jenkins but him being in and out all the time really hurts his ability to help.

Other than that, there isn't much. A few guys who "can" make plays but who also fail to do anything just as often.

Newman's play on the ball was great in the 1st quarter but he didn't finish the play. You won't find an easier INT anywhere. Then he comes back a bit later and gets absolutely obliterated by Manningham who fortunately dropped the ball. It's one thing to get outmuscled and outsized by Calvin Johnson, it's another to get beaten by other teams' 3rd WRs.

On one of the TDs, Collinsworth called Church (I think) for blitzing when he likely had responsibility in coverage.

I honestly think we were all pretty teased earlier in the season when the defense was sacking people, generating turnovers and playing pretty well. We should have known the honeymoon would end at some point.

The talent on defense just isn't good. Sucks because that side of the ball has gotten a ton of money invested but it is what it is.

Time to just admit that the players on that side suck, get rid of them and find players who are capable.

...Spears...solid

Can we, once and for all, put this myth to rest?

Marcus Spears is the king of all JAGs on the DL.

Oh, I know all about the "dirty work" that 3-4 DEs do thereby allowing LBs to make tackles, blah, blah, blah...He's barely a blip on the radar, and he was manhandled tonight.

How does anyone explain that he has the least amount of tackles among the rotation guys at DE? In fact, the other DEs (again, those in the rotation) all have nearly twice the amount of tackles that Spears does.

For a supposed "run stopper" he has 11 tackles all season, or just barely over a half tackle a game.

The Cowboys thought so much of him that they offered Bowen and Hatcher higher qualifying offers.

The rest of the NFL thought so much of him that he didn't receive an offer in FA.

He is a bust for a first round pick and is a spare part, and IMO, he, just like Newman, Spencer, James exemplify what is wrong with this team.
