He's defending someone he considers a friend. Happens all over the world every day for far worse situations. He just happens to be in front of the cameras doing it for a layer we all can't stand.

I have much luv and respect for Irvin. He's doing what any good friend would do. Not sure how wrong he is, remember T.O. teammates wanted him back. I'm not so sure that T.O. was the real bad guy in this situation as he's been made out to be. McNabb played a huge part in this too. McNabb is not all that popular in Philly....

I bet Irvin is in T.O. ear about coming to BIG D also. I think JJ will trust in what Irvin says regarding T.O. Myself, I think T.O. has learned his lesson and doesn't want all that negative press anymore. I think this situation got way outta hand, and more then what T.O. ever expected. Infact, I think the next team that lands T.O. will get a OUTSTANDING player and TEAMMATE... T.O. doesn't want anymore trouble, he just wants to play ball....

You and I both.

He has a right to his opinion but too much is too much. He's really showing his ignorance with this issue.

I stated this back when T.O. was holding out in camp.

Should have repeated his performance of a few weeks ago.

Young kept pressing him, and he simply kept dodging the question.

Ahh, not just Irvin taking T.O. side. Alot of his teammates did also, and wanted him back. We only get the TV version of what really happened. His taemmates and Irvin know the inside dealie of the story.. I don't think Irvin is IGNORANT at all..

Intentionally or accidentally, I think Mike's defense of TO has taken on a wider context than just personal friendship.

He's now the sole media 'labor' voice in a clear management win.

This won't hurt Mike one bit amongst the rank and file..even the players who loathe TO will put themselves in his shoes, and ESPN comes off as 'fairer' than some other media outlets simply for hosting the Irvin takes.

Some fans might be disgusted with Michael's views on this..but I suspect many players are toasting him for them.

Theres that, and also as long as TO is accepted Michaels little indiscrections don't look so serious .

Man, there are indefensible positions and TO has painted himself into one of these vorners. Theres a time where you have to stand up and say to your friend. "You lost it dude, your going over the edge. Time to wake up and admit you were wrong and right this ship right now."

Till someone stands up to TO and says this, he will contiunue to pull his charades, knowing someone will have his back. He will also never have a true friend till someone steps up and tells him hes wrong. TO your so damn wrong on every side of the coin here. You cant win this battle at all anymore. Apoligize, pray for forgiveness, fire your agent and sign a short incentive laden contract with a team that will let you start showing your new self. Dont blow it, this could well be your very last chance. Even Steve Howe ran out of chances, you will too.

Personally I hope he talks and misbehaves his way out of the league. I cant stand the guy and wish nothing be the worst for him and his team (even if that be the COwboys, but I hope not, please god, NO.) and his family (obviously they never stood up to him as he was growing up, 1 good *** spanking by his father would have done a world of good for young TO).

I lost my respect for him over the whole "White House" issue and it's been downhill from there.

I think he's the greatest wide receiver the Cowboys have ever had but personally I think he's not someone I would ever want a kid to look up to.

I agree, Mike is simply playing a part...
I also fully expect TO to become a member of our Dallas Cowboys next year and to take our offense to a whole new level...Championship level...

Some of you guys will then change your tune and love TO scoring for us...

At least he isn't flip-flopping. I would lose respect for him then.

I doubt Irvin cares about that. He's always the first to bring up his own past when refusing to judge the actions of other players.

I can't stand T.O. but then again, I couldn't stand Haley before he became a Cowboy. So it wouldn't bother me that much getting T.O. However, I think we other more pressing issues to address such as the Offensive line, Kicker (might seem of lesser importance but how long has it been since we had a reliable kicker?), free safety, and maybe even fullback.
