On his show on ESPN Radio Dallas moments ago, Cowboys icon Michael Irvin revealed that he recently took a phone call from embattled ex-Bengal Chris Henry. Henry, it seems, wants to make a cleaning-up-my-act appearance on Irvin's program, the same way Pacman Jones did weeks ago.

Irvin and co-host Kevin Kiley discusssed the merits of providing Henry with such a stage. There was some reluctance on their part in becoming known as the "Boystown" of sports radio.

Cowboys Blog has similar concerns. A decision two weeks ago to live-blog the Pacman Jones affair was met alternately with applause and trepidation. And we must be careful about becoming the "Boystown" of NFL blogs.
So This Blog is torn. If Chris Henry appears with Irvin, do we live blog it? Or not? A decision must be made.

Oh great. Here comes the "Bring Henry to Dallas threads" like a flood on these forums.

Good Grief.

Just say no, M Irvin!

Every bad seed is going to think that the Cowboys are going to pick him up.

Talk about overreacting. Nobody said a damn thing about that.

I suppose some just need any excuse to moan? Looks it.

What's wrong with Irvin having these jokers on his show, they need to be heard... I think all sides need to be heard honestly.

Please point out where I said THIS thread was doing that? I'm simply pointing out that this could, and I wouldn't be at ALL shocked if it did, bring a flood of Henry to Dallas threads. Not this thread, but the fact that he's talked to Irvin and they are talking about having him on their show.

If you don't like that try putting me on block then my 'overreacting' won't cause your eyes to get so tired from rolling them like a 12 year old girl.

dont even act like that wont happen, haha.

I'm all for giving folks 2nd chances, but I wouldn't touch this kid w/ a 10ft nightstick! He obviously cannot understand, or appreciate for that matter, the opportunity afforded to him by having a chance to play in the NFL and frankly, I don't think he deserves another chance. PacMan has been in some trouble, but it seems his "crew" gets him in trouble while Henry's a "one man crime wave" (to quote the judge @ his arraignment)!

Michael Irvin is a broadcaster now. He should take a call from Chris Henry.

Roger Goodell is the NFL Commissioner. He will do what he has to to discipline Chris Henry.

Why make this more complicated than that?

LMAO @ Irvin and Kiley not wanting to be a "Boystown" radio show.

:lmao2:

That was classic.

If they call, just make sure you tell them this isn't a "kid's glove" interview. We're going to ask you anything and everything about your criminal behavior.

If they don't agree, don't book those players for interviews on the show.

Simple as that.

I think Irvin should do the interview, just to hear him explain what happened. He's looking at a suspension right now(unless things change for him in the courts) so no need to even worry about him becoming a Cowboy.

they do a weekly show. that's 52 weeks a year they have to have something to put out. how many "boystown" stories are out there? yes high profile when they are but part of what makes them high profile is that these days they're the exception, not the rule.

how many players are either suspended or will be suspended who deserve another shot today? how many are "that close"?

cover the news and don't worry about it. if you don't want to be "boystown" then simply have the host beat the fire out of the "boy". grill into them and when they act like they're talking in soundbytes, call them on it.

don't give em a free ride at all but that's not why you should not talk to them. kinda silly to me. he's news. beat him up and make him prove it or show honesty. people will read right through "talking points" put together by an agent.

I hope Henry doesn't really believe that an appearance on a radio show is going to earn him many points

he just got in trouble

maybe he's a quick learner.

This is one guy that I see really has no chance of changing. He has been a pain in the arse since the beginning of his days @ WV. And has not changed a lick.

The guy needs some anger management help BADLY.

His days in the NFL are numbered.

I'm all for Free Speech...........just not the obligation that anyone has to listen

M.Irvin's show will live and die on rateing numbers...same as any other....just so he doenst choose to go "jerry springer" on espn...ie more and more outlandish to drum up attention.

Pretty soon he'll have pacman on brass pole demonstrating "Rain":p:

The problem with that logic is that usually occurs when a player is released. Almost immediately that type of thread will pop up the same day...

Call me clueless, but I saw the thread announcing his release, but none saying "we should sign him" and it's been a few days.

I guess we should give it time, huh?

Henery wont be playing for a very, very, very long time after King Goddell gets through with him.

I see at least 1 year, maybe 2 coming for Mr. Henery.
