I was thinking the same thing.

He is quietly having a great year.

exactly

he is underpaid

not to mention his block skills are great AND the double coverage he draws:)

The breakout game will be on Christmas day against Philadelphia.

GUYS!!!!! TO is known as one of the top WRs in the league!!! With good reason!!! He'll never have that breakout game because we have too many weapons!!! If TO caught a couple TDs, he'd be double covered every play, so Glenn would have 3 TDs instead. Or, Witten one, Crayton one, Barber two, etc. If anyone here is looking for a monster game from TO, don't hold your breath. Parcells said when TO came onboard that he was just another target and had to learn to play within this offense. This is a very well balanced offense, and no one player will dominate the stats - and that's why we'll win it all.................

I would love to see him get his 150+ yard game and a couple of TD's, it would be great to see.

I don't want or expect the game plan to change with our win streak going great but maybe one Sunday we'll see what we paid the big bucks for.

For Me ,I can't Wait.

I have a feeling that you're going to be getting your wish this weekend. The Saints have really struggled with big plays all season on defense.

The Saints have given up 30 pass plays of 20 yards or more (tied for 20th most in the NFL). The Cowboys have given up 27 (tied for 29th most).

However, longer pass plays have really been a thorn in the Saints side all season. New Orleans has given up 13 pass plays of 40 yards or more (MOST in the NFL). On a side note, this has also seemingly been a problem for the Cowboys. Dallas has given up 8 pass plays of 40 yards or more (tied for 5th most).

So, although the Saints are ranked #4 in pass defense, the big play has really been their downfall. See: Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, etc.

One more great stat about how poor the Saints have been on pass defense.

The Saints are ranked last against the other team's #1 WR (according to Football Outsiders).

Not me. Witten, Fasano, Barber, Jones, Glenn, Crayton......how is TO going to have a statistically dominating game when he is surrounded with all that talent?

No ,I understand ,that was a good outing for him , but I want him to be dominate in a game and shut the media up on how he is such a distaraction this year.

Ok I understand what you are saying but if he get double/triple coverage and Roma checks off to other receivers then it will be hard to have a "break out" game. I am happy with the ball distribution and I would think that some of the open looks our other guys are getting is due to T.O.

I would prefer the very balanced offense with all the receivers getting the ball... BUT.. just because you have alot of weapons doesnt mean that one guy cant get hot and keeps going and going and going... TO will get in a zone and he will get his 8 catches w/ 3 TD's... I see it happening

That's just it. Parcells knows this and has told #81 as such in the words of "you aren't gonna catch 100 balls with this team". He may indeed have a "breakout" game, but it's gonna be Dallas style. Nothing of the magnitude in prior years.

Kinda OT but, I think all those weapons completely confused Bledsoe. JMO, of course.

What BP said and what he meant are two different things... TO is still getting how many balls per game? 8, 10 +.... sure seems like he would have 100 catches after 16 games by those numbers

We need BalancePlus... not just Balance...

I can agree. Love to see it. He isn't gonna be the premier receiver here.

He already is.

TO has had more catches than any of the other receivers in just about all the games this year.... only a few where he hasnt.... and a few where he was tied with 5 with one or more receivers...

The way Romo distributes the ball to everyone, I doubt T.O. will have a "monster break out" game.

Maybe if Witten or TG goes down with injury.

Good post.

While I like to watch Owens with the ball in his hands, we have so many weapons that I always want balance.

If he does have what is considered a breakout game, the best thing that could happen is for Glenn to have one the next week.

Then what do defenses do ?

Those two are both awesome at what they do.

TO's breakout game has been every week since Romo started. Even distribution to all of the receivers (WR, TE, and RB's) makes this offense what it is, impossible to defend for 4 quarters. I'll take TO's perforamce vs. the NYG every week. That will do in my book. Him having an 8 catch day lets Witten get 4-6 catches, Glenn to get 6-8, Crayton for a couple clutch grabs and a good screen or two to JJ or MBIII, plus the occasional deep strike. Balance is the key to this whole season! Without it, then why have all of these great weapons.

Well the biggest thing to me is we're not really setting him up to have huge down field plays. Yeah there was the drop against Wash that was one of those plays.. and the sideline one against Zona but beyond those we arent seeing that much.

And getting the ball in space is what made this guy what he is. With Philly.. and I realize thats a west coast offense, he caught the ball in space alot. And they didnt have other WR weapons as good as ours but the opposing teams couldnt "stop" him anyway.

Those were the kind of plays that made him supposedly "unstoppable" as opposed to just really good.

Here even though his hands are a tad suspect, it's as though we're using him more as a posession receiver than as an explosive big play guy.

Put it this way.. his yards per catch this year is lower than Keyshawns was in '04.

I would like to see more "downfield" passes to Owens and Glenn.

Glenn is a seriously dangerous deep threat.
