You can say our run blocking was bad but what concerns me about Barber is getting tackled in the open field by a DB easily. He used to run these guys over or stiff arm them to the ground but lately he seems to get tackled too easily as well as being a step slower.

Barber started losing it the day he became a starter. Long gone are the days of staying fresh and running through tired defenses in the 3rd and 4th quarter. With his rockem sockem billy goat style of seeking out contact it only figured he'd burn out with more carries against fresh defenses. This team doesn't NOT know how to properly use their talent. It appears Jerry wants to get his $45 million out of Barber regardless that he's not a feature back and puts no fear in anyone. He has no explosiveness and he should be completely used up after one more season.

Barber's contract will dictate that he start. Sad, but true. He won't be benched.

Did anyone remember the play earlier in the game when a defender kind of nudged him and he went flying 3 yards backwards and fell down for like a 3 yard loss? That showed me this guy does not have it anymore. His style of running does not last in this league. He does not have the desire to pound people every play.

And what's the deal with him getting up and being animated with players and the crowd after those little 3 yard runs to the sideline he had early? :lmao2:

Barber would be an All Pro fullback every year. Imagine that...

With Witten ending the early decline talk and Roy suddenly playing well, Barber has become the new Public Enemy No. 1. I don't think he's playing as poorly as some would lead us to believe, but I do believe Tashard Choice would provide a more consistent runner.

I really think Choice should start, with Barber rotating in and Felix being the third guy right now. I'd increase Felix's carries exponentially in indoor games and home games.

I may be over thinking things, as the simple truth might be that he's winding down. But I truly wonder if Barber wouldn't be better served in his old "sixth-man" role. Some guys are better off the bench. I wonder if he's not of that ilk.

As it is, it's been a while since I've seen a classic, bone-crushing run from Barber. He's had good games, but I haven't seen as many of those types of runs as he once had.

16 carries for 33 yards, not counting his losses on screen passes is not that poor???

Are you not watching the same guy I am ? He is done. No power, no threat to run farther than 10 yards.

I believe Barber is playing hurt and it is effecting his overall ability to do what he does best, and that's running people over. Is Barber turning out to be the new "ROY WILLIAMS,S, BENGALS"?

A player that play with such force that turns out not being effective?

In Barber case, maybe so with the Cowboys. I believe Barber needs to rest up for two games Saints and Chargers because he needs to get to 100% and I know the way he's playing now isn't 100%, and I believe he would tell anybody that. We seen better days from Barber, but we also seen Barber used better also.

It's funny how karma comes around and goes around. Last year was Terrell Owens and many others heads turning for the blame of last season. Hmmm.. Jason Garrett, perhaps? Scapegoat? I wonder.....
