Is Bosa the next JJ Watt?

I'd compare him more to a prime Jared Allen. If he's available (and he won't be), no way you pass him up.
As long as we dont do anything stupid like win another game when our season is clearly over then he may be available. Especially if the Titans decide to put lynch or Goff up for auction and trade back.

I hope you're right.

Odds are the Titans and Browns are going to be above us on draft day. I think Lynch will go to the Browns and Bosa will go to the Titans in some order. The 49ers will probably be trying desperately to jump ahead of us to make sure they get Goff though.

Yea i just made a mock based off this. Its a good chance Bosa goes #1 but its also a good chance Titans really look to trade back to fill out the rest of their team since they have their QB to build around. Either way Bosa or Goff, we will get a top player.

You're probably right. If Bosa and Lynch were off the board, I'd snatch up Goff in a heartbeat. Unless they made us a huge offer and we could still get Ramey, Hargreaves or Nkemdiche and be in position to trade back into the 1st for Wentz.

The next JJ Watt?? Or will he even be as good as Aaron Donald?

Bosa is a DE, not a gap disrupting DT like Donald. So that leaves Watt.

I just don't know about Bosa.

There has been a lazy comparison made with Watt since he was a freshman. And usually it is from people like Pete Prisco, who I don't think could spot talent if it bit his head off.

Watt was bigger and thicker and you could see him flashing pro traits his last year, especially how he could convert from speed off the snap of the ball right into power like he does now.

Is Bosa bad? Of course not. I just think he's not a generational type you take at the top of a draft. He is not a versatile rusher you can move around. You are basically buying a pretty good strongside player. Is that a top five type? I would not say so.

Bosa has great "steps", as I like to call it. Very little wasted movement, no wasted steps. His ability to navigate around an OL is fantastic.

Personally though, I'd rather field offers from other teams for him and see if I can't get a kings ransom for him though. Too many holes on this team to fill.

If he is available to us when we pick, I'd either trade down for a flock of picks, or happily take him. Win-Win.

He's definitely not JJ Watt. JJ Watt is a once in a lifetime player.

He does however have ridiculous versatility. Far more versatility than either of those guys. He also has a tremendous frame and ridiculous reach. If he doesn't excel outside, he could be a monster inside. I would snatch him up in a heart beat if he's there when we pick.

How does he compare to former Cowboys, Randy White and Bob Lilly?

Watt didn't carry a higher grade than what Bosa will carry in this draft. In fact, Bosa will be graded higher. Nobody had Watt as a top 5 player in that draft. I didn't read a single soul who had him pegged for potentially dominating like he has on the pro level. I personally had him as a late 1st. I thought he was overrated as a top 15 type and didn't think he'd be more than a solid starter.

A lot of people missed on his grade. For his multitude of faults, Rob Ryan thought he was special and wanted him instead of T. Smith. I had him top 20, but I never dreamed he had the ceiling he hit. I thought he would be a solid starter with a shot at the pro bowl if he hit his ceiling.

Looking back at that draft, it's truly stunning. 9 of the 1st 11 picks are probably as good of a top of the draft as we will see for a long, long time. Maybe as good of a draft class period. Theres going to be a handful of HOF players from that group by the looks of it.

I wanted him but not if Tyron was still there,

Looking back on the time, Smith was the bigger need. The OL was in shambles and we still thought highly of Ware. I think it was the right decision evem though Watt is probably the better player.

I agree having Ware on the team made the pick of Smith seem logical, now if the Front Office had any inkling about how Watts would play...
