Would it offend anyone if someone said Cole Beasley is the best wr on the team? Nothing against Dez I think he's the most talented guy. But there has to be something said about how Beasley just always seems to be open. The way he runs his routes. And it seems like he's becoming Dak's security blanket. If you hear dak talk about Beasley it sounds like they have a good on field chemistry. Going forward it would not surprise me if Beasley becomes our #1 guy.

So why can't Beasley be our Wes or Edelmen.

Reasonable topic to kick around. I think Beasley creates separation and is much better at selling his routes. Much crisper. Clearly Dez is more explosive and physical. Dez is the better player but by no means does he have a clear advantage on any of the WR technical skills. Defenses will scheme both players but they will apply more resources to stopping Dez in my opinion.

No. He has a history of fumbles and inopportune drops. Is this a joke thread? Ever hear of Dez?

Not at all. I said in the original post that Dez is the most talented guy.

I do however think Beas can be the most productive wr especially with Dak under center.

Not really anything crazy about that.

No it doesn't. Beasley doesn't do anything that Dez is physically capped from doing

Enjoyed your "capped" qualifier. In that light perhaps you are correct but right now Dez is not nearly as clean in his route running, change of direction and ability to gain separation from defenders as consistently as Beas.

And I'm not arguing against that but that does not make him the best WR on the team.

When you have a QB that can't throw much outside of the numbers a Beasley type is nice to have, but def not our best receiver.

I agree. I thought I stated that in the end Dez is better. Maybe I wasn't clear on that. Dez commands more attention and thus, there is benefit to the other WRs including Beas. I'm harder on Dez when yelling at the tv and in this forum because he isn't close to his potential and I want him to be.

The word "best" is subject to definition. He isn't the "best" in every category of the necessary attributes that it takes to be the best. When it comes to getting open and percentage of catches to balls thrown, I believe he leads the team in those two categories -- at least, I seen statistically where that was so in the past. As far as yards gained after the catch, talent and strength, Dez gets the credit in those categories. In the final analysis, the so-called "best" player is basically a judgment call that is subject to definition. I would just venture to say both Dez and Beasley both have their strong suits and leave it at that.
