That's HORRIBLE news about Samuels: just brutal. Hope and pray he's OK.

What's the difference between Jerry Jones and Daniel Snyder???

3 Super Bowl trophies.

Still has one of the better records of any team in the league since 2005.

Far from perfect, but far better than Snyder and many other owners in the league.

Wow. Career threatening? That sucks. I wish him well.

For sure... Chris Samuels was very good for a long time... there was a time when he was one of the best at his position...

Jerry can dance... :D

But what exactly does your question have to do with this thread?? Will every thread you post to involve your whining about Jerry??

Could you imagine if the Commanders lost to another winless team?

I think Snyder would go crazy.

I can see it happening in all seriousness.

I HATE the Commanders, but you hate to see a guy get injured, especially something that could put his career in jeopardy.

The Cowboys know about neck injuries cutting some guys' careers a few years short.

Best of luck to Chris Samuel

Agreed

Even on the Commanders, I hate to see someone that severely injured.

Didn't Thomas have a severe neck injury last season that required major surgery?

Again, hope Samuals' neck isn't that bad off.

Report: Samuels may be forced to retire

ESPN.com news services

Washington Commanders left tackle Chris Samuels could miss the rest of the season and may have to consider retirement after suffering a stinger in last Sunday's loss to the Carolina Panthers, according to a report.

The six-time Pro Bowler, who already had been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, will have the injury reevaluated on Tuesday, sources told The Washington Post.
Samuels suffers from stenosis, a narrowing of the spine that causes him to wear a neck brace for extra protection when he plays, and was already dealing with significant knee pain all season, according to the paper.
Coach Jim Zorn told The Post that the injury is possibly more severe than they originally thought.
"I think it is concerning, because we care about his health," Zorn told The Post. "Because of the other doctors involved in trying to read this thing, it's the time that it's taking to get any answers -- that's what's hard. We just have to wait it out.
"But we're going to think very positive about this situation. I think he is as well. He's got an excellent attitude towards the waiting. That's the frustrating part, is just waiting for the results."

Sounds like Irvin's old injury. Not good.

I know all these football players think they are invincible, and who are we to tell them what to do, but he should really consider his future health.

He had this condition coming out of high school in Mobile, Alabama and didn't know if he could play College ball. He had a few stinger type incidents in high school.

Eventually he was cleared by a spine specialist and offered a scholarship to Alabama.

It sounds like he better get out while he's ahead and be thankful for the career he has had.

He was a heck of a football player for a long time.

Honestly I thought he belonged on the all overrated list.

He was able to get a way with a TON of holding though over the years.

How dare you! Just because we are playing a UDFA at left tackle, someone who hadn't played since 2007 at right guard, and someone who hadn't played since 2005 at right tackle? Hater.

Ouch...

Not meaning to pour salt in your wounds, but it looks like the Skins would have been better off if I'd been their GM, rather than Vinny... I've been saying for three years now that they were gettin' old on the OL, and had nothing on the bench that was NFL caliber...

If I'd been running things, they would have been drafting offensive linemen the last coupla years...

I'll tell you what, if the rumors are true that the Chiefs have Brian Waters on the trading block, Danny Boy ought to think seriously about gettin' up off of a high draft pick or two and make that deal...
