Is Dak back in the MVP conversation?

If you can't be a supporter of your own QB, WTH are you still doing here following this team? Enough with the baloney talk that you grew up a Cowboys fan. No true Cowboys fan roots against his own franchise QB who is clearly playing amongst the very best and in consideration for league MVP.

Why that stupidity is left to fester is NOT beyond my imagination....

The one where they take into consideration that one guy's defense gives up 16 ppg and the other guy's gives up 30. One guy can pick and choose and let his defense control the game until he figures out the defense. The other guy has to take more chances because he can never be sure if his defense even got off the bus. Yes that has changed recently but for the first 9 weeks of the season Dak was being asked to be perfect.. and if he wasn't.. this team lost.. badly.. Stafford has wins while passing for 130, 181 and 182 yards. Which game would this Cowboys team have won with Dak putting up those numbers? Stafford also has wins while "leading" the offense to 14 and 17 points. Do the Cowboys have any wins where they could have done that? The Rams defense is #1 in the NFL in scoring.. well that might change after today.. but the pick 6 will go against them in the stats but they clearly didn't surrender those points.

I don't want to diminish Stafford in the least. Dude is ballin and certainly worthy of MVP consideration. But simply put he is being asked to do less. He can take fewer chances because he has a trustworthy defense. He gets a lot of short fields because the defense generates 2 turnovers a week on average. When looking at QBs who DON'T have the luxury of a defense handing him field position on a silver platter multiple times a game then it's okay to put that into the equation which is why Dak belongs in the conversation. It's fine if you don't want to put him ahead of guys whose teams have better records.. but we don't need to ignore the fact that those guys have MUCH better defenses helping them out. Though the tide may have turned for Dak since the trade deadline. His defense is starting to look pretty trustworthy too.

Cowboy's team record is not good enough, thus the MVP is going to Stafford unless the Rams totally collapse.

Dak might have better odds of winning Offensive Player of the Year if he finishes the season first in yards and TD passes.

Kinda like how last year Allen was MVP but Joe Burrow won OPOY if I remember correctly. Burrow led the league in passing yds and td passes but the Bengals were straight up trash on D and didnt make the playoffs.

I got Dak MVP at +40,000 a few weeks ago....because I have seen the man ball out every november and most decembers.

It's Stafford, Maye, and then Dak. Or it might be Maye, Stafford, and then Dak after today. But recency bias almost always trumps whole season stats. See what happened to Dak a few years ago.

We can easily for 5-0 or 4-1 the rest of the way. There is no monster defense he is left playing, and the only bad weather games are the Commanders and Giants.

The biggest issue with this is that the Patriots have played about the easiest schedule in the history of football and it really continues the whole year.

I think it's ridiculous to say Dak shouldn't be in the conversation for MVP. Look at the last three weeks. He's been different most of the season, but the last three weeks he's been fantastic. Look at the Eagles game. Down 3 scores and come back to win it? He'd have come close to winning but choked in the end in previous seasons. He absolutely should be in the running for MVP and that has nothing to do with whether or not the Cowboys make the playoffs. It's separate things.

This is a different team than what started this year. This team is something to believe in. Bank on it.

Young was actually starting to put it together last season at the end of the year.

The two fumbles are why we lost that AZ game though softheads will bend over backwards to pin it on Dak. We were probably going to score on both those drives and win that game.. Probably by a narrower margin than should have been.. but a win nonetheless. But then as I write this I recall that coming into that game all of AZ's losses had been by one score or less. Including some ridiculous stretch where they lost 3 games by a combined 10 points or some such. So maybe beating them by 3 was the best we could have hoped for.

It all depends on what happens the next 5 weeks....if he keeps playing the way he has been and they win out and make the playoffs...there is no scenario where he isn't a top candidate.

Not even, actually. Dallas would need to win the division. What your team accomplishes matters in the MVP vote (#1, #2 seed, etc.). If you're not even first in your division how are you a league-wide MVP? Team MVP, sure.

You claimed Prescott is in the MVP conversation. No quarterback has as much assistance on offense than him in the whole league. The team record is 6-5-1. His personal stats read as 25 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.

He has thrown a bad pick in each of the last two wins where the Cowboys' team were better than the opposition.

By way of comparison Matt Stafford has 32 touchdowns and 4 interceptions with a 9-3 team record.

On what planet is Prescott in the conversation at this point?

If in three weeks time if Stafford has a couple of bad games, Maye has some bad games and Prescott plays lights out with the Cowboys winning out then he might possibly be in the conversation at that point.

what does conversation mean to you? at what point did anyone ask if he was the front runner or favorite? if he's third in odds, he's in the conversation. if he's leading the league in passing he's in the conversation. i doubt he'll win. i don't think currently he deserves to win. however, yes he's in the conversation.
