Is Dallas in your top 4 teams? Top 4 bottom teams?

How about this thought? Cut Sean Lee and his 6y/$42m deal and sign Murray for 5y/$40m.

Which guy are you most likely to get more productivity from this season?

Very interesting. Radical, but I get the logic. What would you have down with sean lee cut, and Murray still walks.

Mediocre. One good season does not erase 3 8-8 seasons. Lets see what happens this season and where the chips fall.

Nothing, no guarantee Sean Lee plays the whole season and Murray left for more money than he was worth here. We didnt replace him properly, but we played the hand we were dealt and chances are good, with enough help, we ll be slightly better than ok.

I tend to agree, while I do have high expectation for this team I also realize that for a good while this team has failed to put up back to back great seasons. Last time we hit a mark of 13-3 we slid the following season. I don't expect that to be the case with this group of players but the Cowboys in my view are still in the proving process that they can come out and produce when expectation are running high.

If the running game is still good then the Cowboys should be one of the 5 or 6 best teams in the league. If it isn't, they could go back to 8-8.

Pittsburgh won the division last year at 11-5 and many power rankings have them Top 10. So it's not unusual to think they could be a Top 4 team this year. Very good offense and I suspect their defense will be a bit better.

Don't care about the bottom so I'll just do a top 8...

1. Green Bay
2. Seattle
3. Indianapolis
4. Dallas
5. Denver
6. New England
7. Pittsburg
8. Baltimore

Green Bay and Seattle are at the top... both elite teams from last year with basically the same rosters. The Colts went to the AFC championship game and now added Frank Gore and Andre Johnson, plus Luck should improve even more.

I have Dallas at 4th... mostly because of how improved the defense will be. We're adding Sean Lee, D-Law (missed over half the season last year), Greg Hardy, Randy Gregory, and to a lesser degree, Mo Claiborne (missed last season), Byron Jones and Damien Wilson. The defense will be significantly better. And I'm among those who believe we can replace Murray's production last season with a combination of Randle/D-Mac/Dunbar. Murray was good at being patient and running tough, but he really did leave lots of yards on the field. I was saying that throughout the entire season last year. It's like the guy was scared to run for more than 20 yards. Once he got to a certain point he would just looks for contact, run into guys and go down when he could've easily scored or at least got another 10 yards or so. Randle isn't afraid to hit the holes running full speed and punch it in. We saw flashes of that in his limited touches last season. And 6.7 yards per carry?? That's crazy good. Make him the lead back, keep him out of trouble and I promise we'll forget about DeFumble Murray. Especially with this o-line now with Collins.

Then I put Denver 5th. I think people are sleeping on them. Peyton will be extremely motivated and that roster is still very talented. After them I got the Patriots. Obviously a lot depends on what happens with Brady's suspension but they'll still be a great team regardless. Reason I didn't have them higher is because of the losses of Revis/Wilfork/Browner on defense. Then I have the Steelers and Ravens. I don't understand people putting both of them so high. Pittsburg's offense will be great but they're defense is suspect and they're losing Polamalu and Ike Taylor. Baltimore's number 1 receiver is a 35 yr old Steve Smith and they lost Torrey Smith. And I don't think there's a chance that Justin Forsett duplicates what he did last season so they're run game might be questionable.

I think Dallas is in the top tier of teams.

But, if the gamble fails. And we cant win this year, it will be blamed on letting Murray go.............

Leader of the team.
Identity,
1800 yards
etc etc....

How could the Cowboys let the leagues leading rusher, after a 12-4 season, sign with another team(the Eagles of all teams)? And now they arent the same and will be lucky to win 10 games. What a bad decision by the Dallas Cowboys.....duh!!!

Thats how it will go over.....

I think were a top 4-6 team..... But if Randle/DMC cant go, which a lot of us think will be the case, and Gus Johnson and Lance Dunbar are playing the RB position. Then we lose that game in December we need to win.....

Right now, I'd say

1. Seattle
2. Green Bay
3. Dallas
4. Pittsburgh

Why?

1. Seattle still has Marshawn Lynch, most of the defense in tact and added Jimmy Graham. Besides, they were a fluky play away from winning their second consecutive Super Bowl. They're the best until someone knocks them off.

2. Green Bay gets a healthy Aaron Rodgers back, and he's the best quarterback in the business.

3. Yes, we lost DeMarco Murray, but we improved the offensive line with the addition of La'el Collins and we improved the defensive line (our major Achilles' heel) with the addition of Greg Hardy and Randy Gregory - not to mention that we get promising DeMarcus Lawrence for a full season. And, I think Tony Romo is going to have an MVP year. I predicted 14-2. I'm not backing down, despite where I have the Cowboys in this ranking.

4. Pittsburgh - The Steelers will be more pass-oriented this year and have the next best set of Triplets in Brown, Bell (who must serve a suspension) and Big Ben. And the Steelers always have a formidable defense.

Why I didn't rank the Colts, Patriots and Broncos?

1. No defense, and I'm not convinced a washed up Frank Gore is the answer to their rushing woes.

2. The Pats lost Revis and Wilfork. Those are huge minuses, and Tom Brady may start the year on suspension. Even if he doesn't, I think the Pats "no-name" player approach to building teams is going to catch up with them this year.

3. I think we've seen the last of the great Peyton Manning. And while even a very good Peyton will beat most teams, I don't think it will help down the stretch. Besides, they lost their best offensive lineman for the season due to injuries. Ouch!

Not concerned where we rank in August it's if we make the playoffs that matter most to me. At the end of the season I expect to see us in the playoffs again fighting to get to and win another super bowl.

That's perfect the way you have it. Put the cardinals at number 9 and you can bet that one of the teams will win the superbowl this and next season.

Steelers D has some serious holes and their O line is not all that. Way too many gomers think its all about skill positions
