Clearly it isn't! Players seemed to love to be mentioned for the Cowboys, now you see how the Cowboys go about spending, and what smart minded agent would tell their players to sign with Dallas??

What does Dallas have to offer these days to get players back to wanting to be here? There's nothing I see at this moment that says HEY I'm a big free agent I want to be here for several years, I know they'll pay what the market dictates, only for this not to happen and said players go the other way!!

It's like beating a dead horse, maybe one day the Jones family will get their mojo back!! Please give your thoughts

It has not been for quite some time.

Clearly it isn't!
It is supposed to be 'please give me your thoughts' and not 'I will answer my own question'.

Intelligent agents negotiate the best contract their client desires. An intelligent agent will tell their client to sign with Dallas if the franchise extends them an optimal offer.

That is the single question that the Mad Genius has fumbled an answer for... quite some time.

If by 'mojo' you mean when will the Mad Genius morph back into Wildcatter Jerry Jones, who knows but that would have been a better OP in my opinion.

Good morning DE

Players don’t worry about “destinations” anymore.

Most players only live there during the season.

Players go to where the most money is being offered to them. Alaska can be appealing for a certain amount of money

Its a good question because there are several legit answers

1. If the money is even and you want a cushy gig but no championship or discipline, this is a great destination

2. If the money is even but you want to go where football is the main thing, you avoid this place like the plague

3. If your a rookie like Shadeur and you want to get a massive 2nd contract, and branding, regardless of results you want to come here . Not to mention a career waiting for you in the boof

I think Dallas is a destination for a certain type of player. The kind that yearns for the attention that “America’s Team” receives, right or wrong, and basks in the team’s past glory despite playing no part in its achievement…this breeds a sense of entitlement.
The player that avoids Dallas is the one that is serious about his craft; football is the highest priority and that player seeks to be around other players, and an organization, with the same common goal; and collectively put team goals before personal goals. They desire focus over distractions and disdain the circus-like atmosphere that is The Star, led by the carnival barker himself, Jerry Jones.
The Dallas Cowboys resembles more of a marketing brand, crafted by the Jones family, than a football team.
That is a shame for when you think of all the great Cowboys players that have played the game, one tends to look to the past than to the present.

Of course it is. There is so much to do. We always have more things on our list than there is time. We scratched the Mavs because of that stupid trade. We are overdue to go back for a race, especially a Indy car race. This year we want to finally to go Troy's place. There is a lot of great restaurants too. Considering we visit Dallas at least once a year, yes I would consider it a top destination.

Yes for players who want brand recognition and to be paid top dollar for mediocre play

No for players who want to win SBs

This is why i put Dak and Diggs and Micah in the same bucket

The Jones stench is on them

I think it still is a top destination. Maybe not THE top, but top 10. Only because there are only 32 teams in the NFL. It's hard to land one of these jobs. Very limited. One can easily argue we were the top 2 of all destinations for a long time, but obviously we aren't that now. Players still wanna come work here. Despite Enos and Cletus.

Your not wrong. But we can say it's still top 10.

I agree. But I would assume destination plays a role if your best two offers are Cleveland or Miami, for example.
won't win at either spot, but being a 20 something year millionaire during the NFL week in Ft Lauderdale/Boca/Miami or Cleveland.
And that's ignoring any tax benefits.

Definitely not, and the evidence is clear, and what has been shown in recent years, apart from the fact that Dallas only wants cheap players since they have overpaid for average players, I clarify there are certain players like CeeDee who do deserve what they are paid but there have been those who have been and are overpaid, but today Dallas is just another team among the crowd that lives off past glories and many of the fans have not wanted to realize that.

Yes, it is like beating a horse. This similar question seems to be asked everyday but in a different form. :muttley:

And another thread to keep the same certain comments going.

All teams are destinations for any player, depending the contract.
Now a player near the end of his career, may consider a ring grab more important than a few hundred thousand on the contract.
But for most players, it is about the money regardless what they say.

Anyone remember that scene from Ford vs. Ferrari where Lee Iacocca was talking about the Ferrari winning Le Mans and by doing so people wanted a part of that winning tradition? Yea same thing applies to this.
