Against one of the worst run defenses at the time.
And until this year he was a solid producing RB who couldn't stay healthy.
The O-line is a huge part of this because they were clearly better than they've been in years past but it's also a product of Murray actually being able to stay healthy for the majority of the season.
I think the bigger reason people are concerned with giving Murray big money has to do with that durability issue. The guy has only been able to stay healthy in a contract year. Even then he actually broke his hand and you do have to seriously wonder if it weren't a contract year would he have played?
I really like Murray but I'll be honest I have serious doubts he would have played had it not been that he was trying for a new contract. I'm not at all interested in tying up a whole lot of money into a running back, at all, but especially to one who really hasn't proven they can stay healthy in their career.
On top of that I'm not a huge fan of Murray's vision, or lack there of. There are lots of runs, a few every week it seems, where Murray could break runs for much larger gains and he just doesn't seem to have the vision to see those moves.
He's a dang good back. He's fun to watch. If the price is right I have no issue with keeping him. But I don't want to break the bank for a RB unless it's clearly, without any question what so ever, the best running back on the planet.
Frankly Murray simply isn't that.
Poor defense and all, no one else put up 250 plus on them.
