I must say he has come along way..this is decision time. Do you give him the keys to the ranch?

Multi million dollar question.....sometime i think this is a silly question and then again sometimes i'm not sure.

Honestly with his play this year he hasnt earned it.

I think he is mature eniugh to handle the money. I dont think he will be in any legal issues.

I am just starting to question if he is really a top 5 receiver or if he is more around the 7-10 mark.

I pay him top-5 WR money and don't look back. The only issue with Dez that I'm at all concerned about long-term is his back, but there hasn't been enough of an issue there to merit a long term discount or any real concern about extending him. I think it just bothers me because he reminds me so much of Michael Irvin on the field, and so I have this subconscious fear that he's going to end up with back trouble and a sudden end to his career.

I literally wanna barf every time I hear anything questioning Dez's maturity. Leave the man alone... he's been staying out of trouble, he's proven he's a team player and a leader, he's arguably our best player and a top 3 WR in this league, he's loyal and dedicated to the Cowboys franchise... he's certainly done more than enough to earn a new contract here. I swear the way people talk about Dez you'd think he's a murderer. I may be wrong (don't think so), but hasn't he never actually done anything illegal? People always say he has an "attitude" (aka a passion for the sport he plays for a living)... it's all ridiculous in my opinion, no offense.

if Dallas doesn't think he is, there are likely 31 other teams that will think he is.

He is mature enough. Hes came a long way. Is he worth a huge contract is the problem. Not a huge game changer to be paid 8 mil plus a year.

Yes, he's mature and will deserve every dollar that is on his next contract.

If he isn't, it's no business of ours. Not trying to be funny, we don't have to pay him, he's going to get paid. Not only that, but why do we care if a man is mature enough for their money. Would you want someone asking that of you? Good grief.

if that is your stance..then why have the forum? if we can't discuss potential betterment of our Cowboys and the direction of the franchise You, have just pronounced yourself as wasting your own time. Who cares? Really?

I don't think he's good enough for a new contract.

I would rather keep McClain, Murray, Carter, Durant, and probably gain 3-4 more starters on this team than keep 1 Dez Bryant.

Is he good? Absolutely. Is he good enough to warrant purging the rest of the roster? No

You don't have to purge any of the roster. Carter's not good enough to warrant a new contract, and McClain/Durant will probably both be signed. If they want Murray they'll keep him. Signing Dez has no effect on those dudes.

And no, Dez isn't mature enough for a new contract.

PSSYYCCHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NIce try, rookie.

Immaturity is not a issue for Dez. I don't know why people keep bringing that up in regards to Dez. It wasn't like he was a 10 time felon or had 10 baby momma's or anything like that prior to coming here.

What about Dez is anywhere near similar to TO, Moss or Ocho?

Who in the locker room has complained about Dez? What trouble has Dez gotten in off the field? What endzone antics has Dez engaged in? We have a top notch receiver that is actually happy when teammates score as opposed to getting angry and demanding the ball be forced to him and we punished him.
