I pay him top-5 WR money and don't look back. The only issue with Dez that I'm at all concerned about long-term is his back, but there hasn't been enough of an issue there to merit a long term discount or any real concern about extending him. I think it just bothers me because he reminds me so much of Michael Irvin on the field, and so I have this subconscious fear that he's going to end up with back trouble and a sudden end to his career.

Dez has to remember his legal money is his long term money (simple as that) Once young talented person(s) understand that, they are much better off for it. I have every reason (outside of young dumb man stupidity = buying toys) that Dez will protect his money. This London crap withstanding; I hope JJ set him up with money men that can protect his earnings. NO RESTRAUNTS

The Cowboys hold all the leverage. Dez has none. This really is not a worry.

Reports this morning that the police have been called to Dez' house six times in the past three years. Cowboys want some protection in the contract. They're scared of a long term deal.

Ian just said these incidents were over the last 4 years so if you heard him say 3 years, he can't even get his story straight.

Doesn't it seem likely that if even one of these incidents had happened within the last 6 months he would have said something like:

"As recently as May of this year, police were called to Dez's house for a variety of incidents to include........"

if that is your stance..then why have the forum? if we can't discuss potential betterment of our Cowboys and the direction of the franchise You, have just pronounced yourself as wasting your own time. Who cares? Really?
Why do you care, how about your finances? I wonder if you're mature enough for it.

i knew this would bother alot of folks around these parts...just breath and be honist. i'm kinda on the fence. if it works it could be great for the franchise.

he does have that T.O, Randy Moss, Ocho Cinco.....ora about him. it could be Golden or...well.

I not starting trouble..just talking among friends.....

More like rambling incoherently to strangers.

Let him hit the open marked and he will get his money, only leverage we hold right now is the franchise tag

I don't question his maturity. Pay him. Although his receptions are down due to Murray, he needs to make the plays when it comes his way. Too many drops. Losing mony imo.

 My finances a just fine. If you knew what i did for a living you would be laughing with me. Only reason i care is becaus eof that darn "cap' thing. Don't want all that space tied up and dead money to get out 'if there is reasonable doubt. That's all.

Pretty sure he's a writer. Or maybe an editor. I would say English teacher, but they're not as financially secure as he implies.

Not giving a glorified possession receiver a long term deal....

Something tells me if Dez were in a Rodgers led O, you wouldn't have this opinion.;) TR's deep ball has been non existent the last 2-3 seasons dude. If anything, it has been a detriment to his statistics (esp long balls) but also TDs, etc. You wouldn't take Dez 1 on 1 with a lone CB on a deep pattern? One broken tackle = 6

BTW Love TR but it is what is at this point...we are a balanced, possession based offense. We are not going to see the 07 days of Romo slinging it all over the field. Which is okay, if we can keep his formula working. Something tells me if Romo had to, he would get vintage on us;) ( Romo would be in the tub for a year) Go Cowboys!
