Is Eberflus the future of our D or even team?

So Eberflus got the role of "pass defense coordinator" now is that right?

He's the only youngish coach to hang around and get promoted and get praised a lot since the dawn of the teens (2010-x) etc .. Teams apparently have tried to hire Eberflus away and he gets raises and stays here.

He had has a hard enough time coaching our linebacker talent such as it is.. I wonder if Eberflus has coached them up above their talent ..

DBs coach Jerome Henderson was pushed out I think - he's with Falcons now .. Joe Baker promoted, Greg Jackson hired as safeties coach ..

Eberflus as I remember wanted Hitchens drafted, good call for a 4th rounder, and then Damien Wilson he pushed for too ..

Rob Ryan said he was the best coach he ever worked with, called him the "Demarcus Ware of coaches" . that is kind of a puzzling analogy ,. I'm guessing Eberflus is in his late 30s or 40s.

We've got a lot of older coaches and Eberflus represents the new wave ha ha.

I wonder if Eberflus is the new Zimmer .. etc. etc.

And I wonder if Tony looks stiff because the last year or so he was wearing corsets, kevlar vests, all kinds of stuff to protect him .. or if he is just getting stiff and slow ..

(Of course I have to throw Tony opinions because I don't want to post them on page 60 of the only Tony thread allowed ha ha I want everyone to see them (sorry mods ha ha ...)

Cough, cough .. so I was talking about Eberflus

Eberflus I guess will inherit the mantle of DC whenever Marinelli wants to hang it up ..

He has to have the inside track to take the DC job once Marinelli calls it quits. No doubt.

I think it's far more likely Eberflus gets flushed with Marinelli and this scheme when the new head coach is hired.

This ...... unless the new coach is ok with having Jerry pick his coaches ....... then I say he might as well keep Jason.

What if Garret gets canned and Eberflus is the next "coach in training" for Dak's prime of his career. Imagine a team of 55 JJ Wilcox's and Barry Churches with everyone saying how much of a choker Dak is because he can't get us to the super bowl.

Didn't want to start a thread about this, but does JG get another mulligan because of the Romo injury? I hope not. It's put up or shut up regardless this year IMO.

People won't want to hear it but he might be starting a rookie QB the entire season. Hard to expect a playoff run under that scenario.

I don't want Garrett fired because I'm convinced he's a bad coach. I want him gone because the owner is too comfortable with him.

He shouldn't. If anything this is the year that he proves he's a coach. Yes last year Romo went down and everyone sucked. Weeden wasn't ready to start and they should have never traded for Cassell. But this year, Romo is hurt 2 or 3 weeks prior to the season and there's a talented, but extremely raw, QB as a back up. I think we all can agree that Dak is and will be better than Cassell and Weeden. But also last year Bryant was hurt and was a non-factor which hurt the back up QB situation as well. This year Garret has time to work with Dak before the season starts, also every other position on the offense is healthy and improved from last year. We got Elliot and Morris, Dunbar, McFadden (if he makes the team). Last year's starting running back isn't even in the league anymore. All the receivers are healthy, even baby hands' x-rays were negative.

Tom Brady got injured and Belicheck took his team to the playoffs with Cassel at QB. Brady was hurt in the first or second game. Romo got hurt before the season so JG has time to prepare.

If JG is a real coach, he doesn't have to be a superstar like belicheck, but an adequate head coach he will get wins from this squad. He'll get the most out of Dak and play to his strengths. If not then it proves to me that he is not a worthy head coach.

His training is done, all head coaches have to be flexible and deal with injuries. Personally I feel as though Garret is a great drafter and can put a team together, but he is a terrible game day coach and relies too much on Romo. If Romo is out 10 weeks then he'll miss 8 games, the first 8 games are pretty winnable. We play NY Giants, Washington, Chi, San Fran, Cin, Green Bay, Philly and Cleveland. It's not unreasonable to expect at least a 4-4 record. My prediction
NY- win in a shoot out
Washington- W
Chi-W
SF- W
Cin- L
GB- L
Philly-W
Cleveland- W

6-2 with Dak is what I'm expecting. 4-4 wold be losing to NY and Chi. That's the worst case scenario as far as games Romo may miss from this injury. out 10 weeks, 2 weeks till opener, etc etc
