That's the thing and seems to be a pattern with this team. They are stretches in their good seasons where they just look so good, so dominant but by the end of the year, it seems to just kind of lose it's steam and then we get bounced early in the playoffs. Take last year. We blew out Philly at the end but they benched everyone. But even then, the defense looked inept letting the backups from Philly move the ball at will against us. Then before that was the abysmal performance against the Cards (that repeated itself two weeks later in the San Fran playoff game).

There are 4 games left. They have to find some sort of groove here over the next four. That Philly game is important. Not even for getting the W, which I think standings wise has no importance as Philly isn't losing another game. But for confidence. You lose that game to Philly and look horrible and get beat up, that's going to be so deflating.
Well, McCarthy has already announced shorter practices for the rest of the season.

So I'm sure that will help, right?

We pulled it out or Lovie Smith gave Jerry and early Xmas present lmao

Looked more like the latter to me.
I don't think so. They were running at will most of the game, but the defense stuffed them at the end. Then the offense finally clicked again.

When was the last time we had back to back double digit winning seasons? The team is trending in the right direction. This year may not be our year. But every year we make the tournament, there is a chance. Make the playoffs year in, year out and your chances increase.

Some of you guys act like y'all would rather Dallas be 3-10 so y'all can avoid the letdown. I bet if someone put up a voting poll asking what record would you rather the Cowboys have 10-3 or 3-10...3-10 would win hands down. Just so y'all little precious hearts don't have to ache. Y'all are part of that soft generation some complain about.

Don't tell my heart... My achy breaky heart. That's y'all. Singing the blues about a ten and three team. Sad, sad, sad.
Boom. Here you go. Happy Monday. Let’s Goooooooooo…..

It has been a long 27 years of mediocrity... the fan base is too smart to not see we are not the powerhouse #1 team in the NFL some of us think we are. Is it due to coaching? QB play? OC calls? Injuries? Who knows.... but I just hope this past week is the last hiccup for the season.
27 years sucks but I am telling you this year is different. Are they winning the SB? Probably not. They won’t embarrass themselves this post season though. That I am sure of.

Honestly, it might. Some guys look worn down. Parsons looks like he's hit a wall and battling some sort of injury. If he's not dominant come playoffs, forget about it.

last 2 playoff losses were by 8 and 6 points, hardly embarrassing, yes a total let down, the penalties and not utilizing nor stopping the run were big part of those losses.

many of our players were born then, many weren't here 5 years ago, most of the coaches weren't in the nfl in the same capacity 27 years ago.

so letts top hanging that on this current team who BTW were allegedly doomed as the pre-season talk all had us 7-10 was historically bad offseason for the draft and FA class , was it not??,,. after dak went down was it not said by the majority of doom and gloom zoners we would win 4 games at best. talking tanking.

Odd all the complaints winning 10 games with 4 to go and first B2B double digit wins and playoff appearances since 1995-96..

can we allow this TEAM of 22 have their own story not attached to 26 other teams' that came before them, ?? o_O:confused::popcorn:

If the Cowboys can come out and get a solid win over the Jaguars. Followed up by finding a way to beat the Eagles, then that will restore a lot of fans confidence in this team. They need to work on cleaning up a lot of mistakes and miscues and Dak has to find a way to cut down on the INTs.

Were the twin towers designed to withstand a 500mph impact and over 10,000 gallons of flaming jet fuel? Conspiracy theorist!

yep, just didn't like the injuries. Seen Brady teams win ugly and then come back to dominate.

Dallas needs Steele to be ok!

I'm also not cool with players being able to call our plays.
Red does not always mean "right". Greg Olson pointed out in a previous game that they ran left after you could clearly hear Dak bark out Red.

The biggest concern is that once again we were completely outcoached. The Texans knew our weakness on D and they exploited it. We are weak against the read option and if Jeff Driskell can run all over us, what will Hurts do?
Hurts had 27 yards on 9 attempts in the 1st Cowboys-Eagles game.

They lost that game because Rush threw 3 INTs...

I'm good. Cowboys almost laid an all time stinker yesterday, but we survived.

We are 10-3. I think our lack of recent playoff success stems from not getting there consistently. The more you make the playoffs, the odds are favorable that you'll eventually have some success there. Mike is starting to build the postseason mentality here. Double digit wins back to back seasons with the playoffs looming, and the division isn't necessarily off the table yet. I think it's great to be a Cowboys fan right now, especially seeing a lot of the young guys contribute immediately.

The good news about yesterday: Dak and the offense drove down the field for TDs on the first possession and the last possession.

3 turnovers in our own end of the field gave our defense fewer opportunities to stop them, but the run defense was still pretty bad until their starting RB left the game.

I think the penalties were minimal, so hopefully they're taking control of that, which means beef up the run defense and stop giving the ball away, and we have a chance against anyone.
The run defense wasn't bad. They only got 114 yds on 37 carries. That's a 3.1 ypc. You take that every day. Pierce avg 3.5 ypc. It's just that the texans never went away from the run. they weren't going to expose their QB's to getting sacked.

If we eliminate the turnovers, this game wouldn't have been close.

No they weren't. 37 carries for 114 yds. 3.1 ypc is not running at will.

I have Battered Cowboy Syndrome.

Right when I get my hopes up, I think of Jerry and I totally deflate like a card house...

I feeling alot of "deja vu" today. I long for the 90s team that got better the closer to the playoffs they got. This team seems to be regressing on both sides of the ball. I hate to say it, and it's not just because of yesterday, but l think we'll be the weakest NFC team in the playoffs. This team has no urgency or confidence IMO. And what's with #11 lately? He seems like he's pouting on the sidelines every time the camera shows him...
