With the current players on our roster, do you think Flo will be the LT this year. I know a lot of us just assume he will be, but after looking at the numbers and the players we have right now, I am not so sure anymore. Take a look:

The most amount of players you want to keep for a unit is 25, I personally would like to keep 24 per side, but I think we will keep 25 offensive players this year. The break down is like this:

3- QB- No way we sneak Moore onto the PS, so if we want him, he will have to be on the 53 Man roster.

4 RB

6 WR- Might can go 5 here but that would mean getting rid of Hurd, not sure we will do that.

3 TE

That is 16 players,, that leaves 9 spots for OL on this team. We currently have 10 that are realistic to fill those spots.

Gurode, Colombo, Davis, Free, Marten, I feel are safe at this point.

That leaves 4 spots, Mcquiston, project player but seems to have caught the coaches eye, I think he is safe.

That leaves 3 spots: Proctor- the only player that can be a realistic back up center and he plays G.. I think he is safe

2 spots: Kosier, Might be on the block, but I think he gets one more year because of his contract.

1 spot and 2 players, Flo and Berger. Common sense says we pick Flo over Berger any day of the week, right? Well when you factor in that this is, at best, Flo's last year, do we want to give up a promosing player for a player that is only here for 16 more games?

I think that if one of the players on the roster steps it up this TC and shows they can play LT, then Flo might not make this team. I don't know if this team wants to give up on up and coming players for someone that will be here for just this year. Its a long shot, but I wouldn't be surprised if Flo is Cut during TC.

What do you guys think?

You've failed to address one critical factor in your analysis: The Cowboys are trying to win a championship this year. You don't replace a Pro Bowler for a rookie in a "Championship run" year.

One other factor. This is a "contract" year for Adams. He wants to play himself into one more blockbuster deal before his career is over (whether it's with the Cowboys or someone else). Players seem to "rise to the occassion" in those situations. We may very well see the best Flozell Adams we have ever seen this year, and the Cowboys know it (hell they're praying for it).

So to answer your question: Yes he'll be here.

That's an interesting idea but despite what some people here think, Flo plays pretty well over there at LT. He's not perfect but we could do a lot worse. He should be near his peak and will play out a contract ending year to prove he deserves another big payday. There is very little chance Flo isn't our starting LT opening day.

Who do you think can really replace him and keep Romo safer than Flo can?

Ok first, who cares about Moore? seriously? not me. If he doesnt make to through then PS, then oh well, if he was that great he would have been drafted. Exactly

Second, Why would we cut Hurd to keep 5 WR? We just drafted Stanback, and kick returners like Austin come and go.

Third, why would we cut a pro-bowl left tackle, when we dont have a LT that has ever started or played in a game, in their career? You seriously must have forgotten about the Petti experiment.

And then again, injuries. We cut Adams, and McQ gets hurt, you tell me how smart you would feel then? Exactly. I dont know what you were drinking when you typed this, but please, dont do drink it again. It really brings out the ignorance of your thoughts.

No one is ever a lock to make a team. However, I think it is in the best interests of the team and fans that he does make it and shines. The alternatives are all young, inexperienced and not ready.

Well in all fairness to me, I never stated, that Flo wouldn't be or shouldn't be our starting LT this year. My question was simply, is he a LOCK. I am not sure he is. Of course, lots of things would have to happen in order for him to NOT be the LT and the chances are very slim that he is not the LT this year.

I believe that Flo will be here and starting at LT this year. But if one of the young tackles really shows out at TC,, it would not Surprise me to see them let Flo go, given that he will be gone after this year anyway.

Flo is the only tackle on the roster that is a lock to make the team this year.

I personally don't care for Flo, but at this point, he's is the best thing going (I think)

I really do hope that someone new at LT jumps out (as did Romo last year) and just surprises us all, that would definitely put the dagger in Flozell. This would probably have to be done in Training camp, and allowing someone new to start at LT in 1 or 2 of the pre-season games.

And who says Moore doesn't make it to the PS? Romo did.

I think you are mistaken. Romo was never on the practice squad.

Besides, Romo was never touted the way Moore has been by Jaworski and that guy with the hair. If he shows half as much as those people indicated, he'll stick. Several teams besides Dallas tried to sign him. He would not last on PR, in my opinion.
