With Cooper status up in the air, is Gallup ready to take over #1?

Cooper clearly disappeared, you have to wonder how much was injury and how much was just being shut down. But, thats not the sticking point for me. As the season went on it looked like Gallup developed more chemistry with Dak than Cooper.

Is Cooper worth probably at or around 19mil AAV? Is he worth north of a 90mil contract? Is it better to franchise him and trade him? There will be a market for him. Theres no doubt there would be a team willing to give up a 1 for him.

So it goes back to Gallup, look at his season and he had a steady season. He plays fast and runs good routes. But he has a case of the drops because hes looking where hes going before the catch is made. Is he a redzone guy? Is he a guy who is going to make that tough catch inside the 10?

Could a a guy be had in round 1?

Tee Higgins Clemson
Justin Jefferson LSU
Henry Ruggs III Bama
Laviska Shenault Colorado

Could one of these guys come in and team up with Gallup?

Today i saw Coopers interview and for the first time when asked about his future he didnt say I want to be here. His response was IDK how Fa even works its my first time deal with it, ill have to talk to some people to see how it goes.

I know this team wouldnt just allow him to test FA, but im starting to think that maybe they'd trade him for some return.

No. Gallup was that good because Defenses had to stop Cooper.

Only if I could trade for OBJ and that's a big IF...or iff CeeDee is available

No, Gallup is a great #2, but don't think he is ready to lead the way.

Not sure how they move on from Cooper when you consider the lack of FA receivers available this offseason.

sign a free agent like Breshaud Perriman and let Cooper go if he wants top tier money with his disappearing acts

No. Maybe next year proves otherwise but based on 2019 he has a lot of room for growth, which he'll need to become a good #1. With that said, he's on his way to becoming a very good #2. 1100 yards for a 2nd year WR is very impressive.

So a guy who had been a monster bust and injury problems has a few good games in a pass heavy offense and we’re banking on him?

I'm skeptical we could get a #1 for Amari. Why would a team do that when this is one of the best receiving classes we've seen in a while? Nobody else is going to be thrilled about paying him $19 million either.

Then sign Robby Anderson if we need the deep threat. He won’t cost close to Cooper either.

I don’t want Cooper back at the price he will want. A great #1 should be an Alpha and Cooper is not

Gallup is coming along but needs to be more consistent with the routine catches

Get me a great TE and that will transform the offense is

Yup. That’s why I said pick 1 should maybe look at tight end

I think he’s probably close. Little too much 50/50 but his play making capability outstanding. You can see his confidence growing for sure.

That is true. But can two number two receivers succeed

IMO if we get a good OC I don't see why not.

Break the chain of needing all-stars at every position.

Anderson can be that deep threat while Gallup is that medium threat and Jarwin can be that safety valve/seam TE.
