For the amount of hype that the two tight end formation received during camp as compared to the results it's gotten, do you think JG is waiting for the Eagles game (or even later) to show some stuff?

What we know: The running game is exceptional

What hasn't happened:

All the mismatches it was supposed to provide in the passing game.
The explosion of Martellus Bennett.

Regardless of his play calling, Garrett is clever. If he is holding back for late season surprises, he's playing a dangerous game because it might not matter.

I think he's waiting until the 16th game. Then we will show the league what we really got!

I thought that I read in one of Bob Sturms Blogs that the 2 TE end set was very productive.

I was just thinking this the other day. The last few years we have started out really hot with the offense firing on all cylinders. Then later in the season, the offense gets figured out with 12-15 weeks worth of gamefilm.

Ed Reed even said that this offense is predictable and that was late in the season. I strongly believe Garrett has a bunch of gameplans and formations up his sleeve just waiting to unleash them in December. Call me crazy! It's really ballsy.

And here I thought the "Fisher is deliberately tanking" thread was absurd. I should have waited an hour.

I'm sure he's holding back and risking us lose games early before the hardest part of the schedule kicks in. Yeah, that's plausible.

It is.

It's mostly productive in the run game. The passing game has been a little slow from our 12 package.

He also hasn't gotten Felix involved in the passing game. I heard all about splitting him out as a wr when they were showing run and haven't seen it on the field like I expected.

The fact that Garrett didn't have one screen pass to Felix in the 3 games he's played in really makes me wonder. He called a couple in preseason though.

The answer is yes, but that's no different than any other team. You only take a portion of your playbook to the game in any particular week and I seriously doubt many teams would use every bit of their playbook through 5 games.

Now, if your question is, "Is he intentionally holding 'better' plays back for use later in the year?" That I seriously doubt.

Garrett is a dweeb. Get a OC with some creativity. Not one with that of a tick.

It's been great for the running game but not so much for the passing game. So it seems.
He may be holding some things back, they always do. But at this point they can't afford to hold back any longer [if they truely are at all]. Now they just need to WIN games.
