Being that it's hard to do both long term with the salary cap and with few premium draft picks. In my humble opinion we are 3 players away from a Elite offense. 1. Field stretching TE. Witten is the best at what he does but he doesn't stretch the field. 2. #2 receiver with speed to compliment Dez. 3. Solid RT. All I gotta say is Doug Free.

The Defense needs a complete overhaul. We need speed and talent. Lee, Brown and Jones and a bunch of question marks, Drug suspensions, bad backs, nerves not firing and bad luck.

If you were the GM what would you do.

13-3 tells me the offense is pretty good.

You don't NEED a "Field Stretching" TE.

Dez ain't all that fast. If I had my choice, it'd be a faster WR.

DEFENSE. DEFENSE. DEFENSE.

DEFENSE. DEFENSE. DEFENSE.

They need youth on defense: DE, LB, safety, and CB. Youth and speed, just like in the old days with Jimmy.

WR and tackle can be added in there somewhere but they need defense.

I'd become extremely DAK Friendly.

The whole reason Marrinelli was retained was becuz he can run the defense with schemes and substitutions and numbers.

The offense still has lots of areas it can improve.

And we are going to be heavily leaning on the offense to be carry the load.

We need more..the defense will always be our weak area.

No way do we take 5 years to build this defense like we have the offense.

There isn't time.

I don't believe the ceiling is much higher for this offense. It's operating at a high efficiency with a ball-control game. Yes, it could benefit from those additions, but how great would the benefits be compared to how much the defense could improve with a talent infusion? The sky is the limit based on where the defense is currently.

Our offense is near the top in the NFL in efficiency with the youngest backfield in the league that will predictably get better.

Sure we have a couple spots we can upgrade but even with the same exact lineup, we are likely a top 5 offense based on the expected progressive from our young guys.

IMo we are not going to beat great QBs if we dont have a pass rush and thats irrespective of what we do on offense,we can be a Juggernaut on Offense but come playoff time one misstep and you lose and you have no margin for error.Having a good passh rush will increase your margin of error on Offense,

look at the records of Superbowls when a number 1 offense faces a number 1 defense...overwhelming the defensive team wins

No idea if that is true or not but does not mean you need a dominant defense to win the Super Bowl. There is no guarantee the best team or defense gets to the Super Bowl.

If the #2 offense beats the #3 ranked defense then what is your opinion? Relative I am sure based on the #3 team. Just the same as it would be in your example of #1 defense vs the #1 offense.

I believe it's 9 times a number 1 offense faced a number 1 defense in the Superbowl, and it's 8-1 or 7-2 in favor for the defense, Dallas lost to Green Bay, why because they didn't score enough or they couldn't stop Green Bay on defense.......I've said it all year this defense was a mirage....and now all I hear is this utter FANTASY LEAGUE PLAYERS nonsense that we should invest more in the offense to make it so called elite,,,,,,this team was 13-3 and elite enough last year on offense....Money and assets need to be put into the defense because other than Sean Lee, there isn't much on this defense that would replace another player on a another team
