Is it Dez or is it our offensive game plan?

I had the pleasure (except for the loss) of attending my first cowboys game yesterday with my family and I just don't understand how Dez just disappears for long periods of time. I only got to see the cardinals game last night on TV and the Steelers game today and Fitz and Brown are always open even when the other team knows they are throwing to them.
Yesterday just about every play ended with Dez about 40 yards downfield all alone and us throwing a 2 yard out to Witten on third and 3. I am a huge Dez fan however several times yesterday I saw him barely jogging back to the huddle while everyone else hustled and quite a few times I'd see him signal to the sidelines to send someone in for him instead of going back to the huddle. I don't understand how he pulls himself out so much, especially on some key third downs. Is the coaching staff really sending him deep EVERY play. We didn't throw him one screen, one slant, one drag, NOTHING. so frustrating watching these other receivers on other teams play every play and constantly get open. Anyone seeing what I'm seeing?

Yes..we all see it.

I wonder if his Hammie is still bothering him.

It's strange.

I watch the Steelers play and they still get the ball to Antonio Brown who despite his monster season last year and must have a target a mile wide on his back..

he's still getting open and producing.

I think they do send DEZ deep a lot and DAK is looking for quick throws and to nullify the pass rush..

leaving Dez at the tail end of the receiving tree.

I think they are going to need to put him in the slot and maybe put him in motion across the formation to get him open and away from the coverage.

Dez is the type of player that needs passes thrown to him early in games..always has been that way.

But we are not doing that..Beasley and Witten are getting a lot of throws and they are middle of the field guys.

I'm certain against the Skins it will be different.

A bit of both. Dez didn't get a ton of separation last game, but then again, we're not creating a gameplan to really get him involved. It's sad when our gameplan is to 'take what's given'.

Because using Dez as a "decoy" is easy.

i'm also amazed that we have designed 0 plays to use Lucky in the middle of the field against teams with terrible linebackers.

1 game with a rookie QB running a limited offense and according to many posts I've seen on this site in the last day, Dez is now a scrub because we didn't throw to him more than like 3 times? You think that was 'because he couldn't get open'? Are people really this stupid?

The coaches didn't trust Dak to throw deep to the wideouts. That's why most of the passes were underneath stuff to the TE's and our small short yardage guy. That's why Witten caught 9, our underneath guy Beasley caught 8 and Williams ended up with 3 to Dez's 1.

This was coaching. They let Dak go deep in the preseason and then when the game planning started they took that away.

Watching people chalk this up to a sudden amazing lack of ability on Dez's part is painfully stupid.

Dez doesn't get off the line well, and as has been mentioned, he doesn't have the speed/quickness to gain separation...basically the opposite of Beasley.

Last time both Dez and Rono were healthy, Dez led the league with a whopping 16 TDs while going for 1320 yards.

He's got another tough week ahead of him. Hall has always had his number and they'll just bracket him all day with Norman on him. Gonna be pretty funny watching him lose his mind.

Yes, how Dez went for 16 TD's and 1320+ yds in 2014 is 1 of the biggest mysteries ever. How did this scrub manage to fool us all for so long? Thank GOD 1 game into the 2016 season, he's now been totally exposed!

I'm not saying in any way Dez isn't a beast. Just so tired of seeing other teams feed their top wr game in game out and we can't find a way to get him the ball.
