Is it ever a good thing for a NFL team to go into the playoffs on a winning streak?

I know it sounds stupid to say I hope we lose once before the regular ends to avoid going into the playoffs with all that pressure but I just don't think it's a good thing. Trying to imagine us playing a playoff game without having lost since sept?? LOL I don't want that at all and would like to see us lose a competitve game before Christmas.

The last time a team that I can remember went into the playoffs on a winning streak was the Giants in 2000 and lost in the SB. Do we need to see a Cowboys loss in a close game with Dak and Zeke to remove the pressure before the postseason? And losing to the lions or eagles would not count since the division and conference would be locked up by that time.

I remember when we used to struggle to win games after Thanksgiving. I don't want that happening again. I'm not going to jump off a cliff if we lose a game or two but I'm not rooting for it especially when the other NFC East teams winning.

Just thinking how much pressure it would be for Dak and Zeke not to experience losing a game together at all while getting ready for their first playoff game.

So the only challenges game where that can happen is Thanksgiving and Giants game on 12/11. They win both of those and that means they will be playing in Jan without losing a game together since sept

I too have wondered if a loss would be beneficial to the team. I just hope it doesn't happen this week. :D

Well I'm not worried if we keep winning because Dak has been under enormous pressure all year. Some think he has to be perfect. Others think if we lose a game it's time to switch QBs. Totally unreasonable. He's going to be under pressure no matter what because he is the QB of the Dallas Cowboys.

It won't be an issue the reason is if we won 6 more games we'd have the NFC wrapped up and rest our starters in the last game. The reason is we can't lose the #1 seed unless we have at least two more losses. Most likely we won't win 6 more in a row anyway.

Weak mentality. If a win streak puts to much pressure on Zeke and Dak to perform, then they aren't and won't be as good as we think.

Trust me, we'll lose a few games before the playoffs.
the Cowboys are a good team but they aren't a great team yet.

I just think we have a better chance of going to the SB if we lose a important game before Christmas

I think losing our opener was a motivating factor. Not sure we'll need another one?

Momentum and confidence are two of the greatest assets towards continued success.

Some feel it's an advantageous to wrap up your division early and seeding to rest your starters for the playoffs even if that means meaningless losses while others feel it's an advantage to need to win to get in.

But to answer your question do we need to lose another one to get our attention. Probably not.
I think 4-12 and our recent history has most of our players attention.

No, they don't need a loss.

No team had ever won a Super Bowl after losing the first two games of the season. That was what people said when Emmitt held out for the 1st two games in 1993.

Dak and Zeke are already doing things that are unprecedented. They might as well do other things that have rarely been done.

Maybe if there was a sense that this team is struggling to deal with the pressure of an 8 game win streak, then your concept might have merit; however, they don't seem to be that type of team at all. In fact they, much like the early nineties Cowboys Super Bowl teams seem to live for the pressure and spotlight of big games.

I will concede that there are still a few players on this team that have wilted in big games in the past (Dez, Carr, Scandrick, Free) but this year the team seems to have shifted from taking on the personality of some of those guys and instead have taken on the personality of Dak, Zeke, Tyron, Fred, Martin, Leary with Lee and Witten showing them all how to be professionals.

As Deion said about when asked why they took Limos to the 95 Super Bowl "Cuz we Staaaz'. This team has some legit Stars leading the way, not just some really talented knuckleheads like in recent years.

Instead of wishing for a loss, you should wish that they don't do something stupid like bring back Rolando McClain or start game-planning to force the ball to Dez.
