Is it fair to judge Romo tonight?

We were only down by five when he came in, and threw, what appeared to be, the safest pass possible, which was tipped and intercepted. Not really a big mistake.

Then, he drives the field, and TO drops a sure first down.

Next thing you know, we are down more than two TD's and Romo is in a must pass situation. He loses his playaction and any threat of the run. he still drive the field a few times, but throws two more interception, one due to a defensive hold.

Is it fair to judge him on this game?

He was put in a very tough situation, and despite that, he played pretty well, even with a few mistakes. I want to see him with a week of practice with the first-team and a whole game with the ball in his hands.

I would rather a QB who makes plays and forced throws tonight than one who sits back there and curls up into the fetal position.

truer words have never been spoken!

Listen, I was excited when he came in, but there's no excusing those picks. The first two were dumb as hell throws and the third was a bad throw. No way anyone here would be making these lame excuses if Bledsoe was throwing those passes.

I sure wouldn't...because there is a MAJOR difference in a rookie coming in for his first real playing time and a VETERAN quarterback. You're right, I wouldn't cut Bledsoe ANY slack because I've already gave him as much as he deserves.

This is strikingly similar to a thread started just minutes ago. :)

It's hard to judge him considering he's only gotten a handful of reps a day for the past seven weeks. Hopefully if Parcells wants Romo to start next game he'll give him the majority of practice reps.

ZING!

The handwriting was on the wall for Bledsoe a while ago.

Romo should have started vs. the Titans or Texans after a week (or two) of taking starting snaps in practice ...

Romo isn't a rookie nor is he young. He has been around four years. He choked under pressure.

He showed some decent stuff but the bad more than outweighed the good. In fact, the bad cost us the game.

You people are such hypocrites.

Celebrate all you want about the Romo era... but we just entered the point of no return.

Romo better be the man, because this is his team from here on out.

I hope to hell he lives up to the hype, but those were some God-awful interceptions he threw.

Make all the excuses you want... it's all verbal diarreah.

How can you be excited knowing the defensive genius in Fox has a week to prepare for our 1AA QB?

Amazing that you say this.....actually Fox will have to work this week to prepare for Romo. All he had to do to prepare for Bledsoe is to send the rush up the middle and watch Bledsoe curl up and take a sack.

I'm going to say this right now. The Cowboys will win their next three games with Romo at quarterback. You can't expect a guy to play smoothly after not getting the majority of the reps in practice. I don't know why, but I think Romo will win the next three games and the Boys will be back in contention. He will eliminate some of his errors through practice. The season is not over even with the quarterback change. If anything, it just gave the boys a fighting chance.

I agree. This is not a good game to judge Romo on.

To start off on a Monday night game 2nd half with bad momentum is really tough. I mean Monday night and he didn't get the reps he needed during the week. Also, the Giants were playing inspired because our offensive line was just a joke. Romo had someone in his face most of the time he was in there.

I don't post much, but if anyone thinks we should be going back to Bledsoe they have rocks in their head. We need to stick with Romo. Let him get some good game experience for goodness sakes. Some of those picks he threw were mistakes especially the last one, but hey even 14 year veterans do that too. At least Romo has an excuse for his mistakes.

But didn't Romo make a lot of plays?? He threw some pretty balls and had some nice mobility. But once he reigns in that gunslinger mentality a bit we are going to have a fine QB. I honestly thought we had a chance to come back. Romo has signs that he has "magic." I for one, am willing to let him develop. I think we are going to pleasantly rewarded.

I didn't make excuses for Bledsoe, I simply believed he was the best option. Now that the change has been made, no excuses will be made for Romo. We all knew there would be growing pains. now that we've seen them live, you want to play like they don't mean anything? The QB of the Cowboys, whoever it is, won't be safe from judgment or criticism.

So you can't play Romo because he doesn't have much experience but when he finally plays he should already be seasoned? Give me a break.

Give Romo all the snaps in practice. Your in a much different frame of mind when you know you will start versus getting the nod during halftime. I will judge Romo in Carolina. Besides, who would you have rather have made rookie mistakes? A guy who will get better or a guy who is what he is?

The odds of him or any green quarterback pulling a Clint Longley were slim to none.

But at least he has a ceiling he hasn't reached. Bledsoe has reached his.

Romo needs some experience, and I'm willing to be patient as he gets it.

Bledsoe isn't going to take us anywhere guys. With Bledsoe, we might have beat Arizona and Detroit.

But against Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Washington, New York Giants, Indianapolis, Atlanta and Carolina, teams with a defense that can basically rush Bledsoe and force him into a mistake, we likely wouldn't have won with him.

So I'm willing to see if Romo is a fast learner and whether his mobility can help us, especially with this offensive line.

I'm all for Romo.

No turning back, no turning back.
