Is it fair to judge Romo tonight?

You people are such hypocrites.

Celebrate all you want about the Romo era... but we just entered the point of no return.

Romo better be the man, because this is his team from here on out.

I hope to hell he lives up to the hype, but those were some God-awful interceptions he threw.

Make all the excuses you want... it's all verbal diarreah.
Bledsoe played himself out of the starting position. He just isn't the guy. He's shown that.

Romo may not be the right guy either. But better the Cowboys figure that out this year than waiting until next year to find it out.

Yes, it is fair! PArcells has said all along that the reason he hasn't played him is that he has major mental breakdowns, and just chucks the call up.

Romo isn't a rookie nor is he young. He has been around four years. He choked under pressure.

He showed some decent stuff but the bad more than outweighed the good. In fact, the bad cost us the game.

Bledsoe's INT at the goal line was where we lost the game. We were rolling and things were going our way. That pass killed it. Romo is a rookie cause he hasn't had any snaps in a regular season game. He choked because he couldn't bring out team back to win? Who expected him to bring the team back? If you did you were wanting way too much for a guy that finally got to see actual playing time.

I agree 100%.

I just don't like the dopey excuse-making for Romo's errors.

Give Romo all the snaps in practice. Your in a much different frame of mind when you know you will start versus getting the nod during halftime. I will judge Romo in Carolina. Besides, who would you have rather have made rookie mistakes? A guy who will get better or a guy who is what he is?

The week of gameplanning for Romo gained will be outweighed by the week of preparation by the Panthers defense.

Romo made MORE rookie mistakes than Bledsoe did tonight.

They're all mistakes. I want the fewest mistakes possible. IMO Bledsoe clearly makes fewer mistakes. While you're waiting for him to get better, we're throwing a season away.

Dude what are you talking about? Romo threw three ints today and two touchdowns. Who performed better? Romo tonight or Bledsoe at Philly? I think Parcells knows Romo gives the Cowboys a better chance to win. If he didn't then Romo would still be on the bench. Romo threw many ill advised passes, but hopefully a full week of practice will eliminate those errors. Bledsoe has had 14 years of practice and yet he continues to make rookie mistakes.

Nope. He probably didn't take many snaps with the #1 offense this last week.

Congrats on the garbage time TD...

So Bledsoe throws 3 picks in one game at Philly and Romo throws 3 picks in one half and you ask who played better?? Honestly??

So the INT at the start of the second half giving the Giants seven points had nothing to do with the loss?

Romo had no running game, a leaky offensive line, and was wearing Strahan like a sweater for most of the night. For a good portion of the second half, he was forced to throw on every down. Yes, he screwed up, but this was hardly a fair audition. And now he has to face Carolina on a short week. It won't get any easier or prettier.

Bottom line is that Bledsoe is fatally flawed, this team can go nowhere with him unless everything is perfect and the OL gives him extra time. Obviously that OL is FAR from perfect,,,

keeping Bledsoe in = throwing the season away and WASTED TIME
putting Romo in = rookie mistakes & maybe not making the playoffs but at least getting "the future" started

I mean put him in the 2nd half down by 5, for a guy who has never started to come back on monday night and win the game for us?

Thats a pretty hard task JMHO

Its a moot point, the Romo VS Bledsoe question. From day one I wrote that Romo should start. Not starting Romo VS the Texans was a stupid blunder that probably cost the 'Pokes the playoffs, because we would have beaten the Texans and Romo would have some needed real-game experience.

Parcell's decision to drop Romo onto the field in the middle of a red hot game against the best team in the division came six quarters too late.

Its obvious the Cowboys have some outstanding talent on the field. I think that what we lack is effective coaching. If Parcells says one more time that he might retire, etc., J Jones should simply fire him and promote Zimmer to HC.

I personally am sick of hearing Parcells hem and haw about, hinting that he might quit with no notice at any time. Screw the man. He coaches like he has one foot out the door already. Even when we do well, he looks like we're losing, or like its some kind of miracle we're ahead. He lacks passion, burning desire, even vigor. Obviously he no longer loves to coach, no longer loves winning. His instincts are poor and he goes to bed at night dreaming of clearing out of Valley Ranch.

Anyway, we all hurt because we all know we have enough talent on the team to win. If Bledsoe hits for six instead of another end-zone INT, its a different game. If Owens holds the ball at 4th and 2, its a different game. If the O-line plays pro ball, its a different game.

<sigh> I'm sorry we lost, Cowboys fans. It just plain sucks.

Couldn't agree more.

You can judge a couple things. He was calm under pressure, but made some stupid mistakes. He wanted to put the team on his shoulders and win the game, which is a tall order for basically a "rookie."

There's no discounting, however, the natural talent this guy has. It was a complete 180 from Bledsoe. Can't wait for next week. I haven't been this excited about a Cowboys game in a long time.

That is pretty much the way I see it too, plus the fact Romo galvanizes the offense and resurrects former impact players in it.

Yes it is fair to judge Romo. As Bill said he has been here 4 years he is not a rookie. He entered a 12 to 7 game this was not out of reach. Lets be fair Bledsoe took the heat when he was in well now Romo must face the heat. He did some good things out there but he also threw 3 ints on the night that were very costly to the team. Dallas made the move and I think they may as well stick with it and not start playing musical QB's.

Nailed it. It's absolutely fair to judge him, it's not like he came in down 20 with no chance, and the defense pinning it's ears back. He came in down 5, which is a completely managable situation. Aside from the flashes, which I liked, he was garbage. Completely idiotic, inexcusbale mistakes no matter how long you've been playing. He better step it up next week. I like the determination.
