Is it just me or is Eastbound & Down struggling a bit this season?

Love the show, but the first 3 episodes have me wondering if the show has run it's course. Still funny in parts, but the overall hilarity is missing. Kenny Powers has almost become too obnixious. In the previous seasons, it was to me as if he had no idea he was such a schizo. Now it's too obvious and the randomness of his character is gone. The whole episode with Stevie and Will Ferrell's car dealer character was just wierd. Is it the writing? Something is off about this season so far. I'm hoping it gets better.

thats pretty spot on. but i think it will get better. it is still in the process of settting the season, introducing the baby, myrtle beach etc. but i think you make valid points

I've been thinking the same thing. It's gone from mildly unbelievable to just straight absurd. It's the final season, so hopefully things pick up.

Agreed on all accounts. Have not been pleased with the series this season.

I have found Life's too short more enjoyable.

THIS. I think these first 3 episodes have been STELLAR. I LOL'd when he put the baby in the whole at the beach (and covers him with a flag), so nobody will steal him. "That's parenting skills."

It's still got it's moments, but on the whole it's not as good.

This season has been great. I think sometimes we get nostalgia and think of every moment of previous seasons as being great. This season has been spot on and has continued some of the same absurdity from last season.

This season has had its moments, but I definitely feel like the show has slowed down a little, but that's mostly just because in the first season we didn't start out expecting some of the one liners and stuff Kenny has, so now when he does them they have less impact.

If I recall correctly, this is the planned last season of the show, so hopefully it'll end in a dark and uncomfortable way, like any good Jody Hill creation. :laugh2:

I very much enjoyed Eastbound and Down in its first season. I kind of lost interest a couple episodes into the second season and thought it got pretty horrible by the middle to end. However, i just watched the first two episodes of season 3 last night and they reminded me of the first season again. Thought they were hilarious.

I heard about the Foot fist Way Joshmvii! I will def check that out.

Yeah, definitely do! Danny Mcbride plays a delusional Tae Kwon Do instructor who thinks he's this awesome martial artist, and his hero who is like a low budget Steven Seagal type steals his wife. It's so dark like eastbound, but it's freaking hilarious.

I got the dvd for like 5 bucks.

The funeral made it. I also loved when he dropped by the girlfriend's dorm room with his twin.
