Is it just me or is this season one of the most hopeless in recent memory?

Honestly though, could it have gotten any worse after that Thanksgiving day debacle? I literally experienced a COMPLETE and utter 180 in emotion and expectations after the Thanksgiving day obliteration at the hands of the Panthers.

Basically, I went from an extremely optimistic, overly confident/borderline ARROGANT fan after the Dolphins W to an extremely PESSIMISTIC, overly depressed/borderline SUICIDAL fan after the T-giving day disaster.

Tbh, I can't remember a time when I've felt THIS detached from the season THIS early on. For example, I couldn't have watched more than 1-2 hours of football ALL DAY today, an absurdity for myself EVEN on non-Cowboy Sundays. To make matters THAT much worse, the SKINS were up pretty big all game long and are now in first place in the East.

As a Cowboys fan living in the Nations Capital, there is NOTHING and i mean NOTHING worse than having to listen to those Foreskin fans incessantly gloat about a "big win" AFTER we lose in as humiliating a fashion as we did to Carolina on T-Giving. Hearing these pea-brained, imbecilic Foreskin fans revel in their false bravado and new-found confidence after a "big" win is murderously annoying and unfortunately, they could end up WINNING THE NFC EAST!

I cannot WAIT for this season to ******* end. Who else feels the same way?

I feel more hopeless going forward than anything.

We need a breath of fresh air going forward and it looks like we're just to try try again.. Keep processing and plugging away.

Our team is held hostage at the moment.

I dont know, some of those Dave Campo seasons were the dumps. The last year of Wade Phillips was pretty bad. That packers game was pretty difficult to watch. At least we do have some legitimate young talent on the team. The problem is we hold on to players to long, i dont know if that Garrett or the Jones family, but they are stubborn when it comes to moving on.

This is a very Dave Campoish year although Campo never lost 7 straight.

Those Dave Campo year where hopeless though. The cowboys could very well play deep into the playoff next year if the stay healthy and make a couple of off season moves.

See i'm (apparently) in the minority as I am still a Jason Garrett supporter and I truly (at least up to this point) believe that JG just got hit with unbelievably bad luck this year with injuries and can and WILL win again, and not just next year but in years to come as well. Call me crazy but I like the fact that the players STILL play hard for JG no matter what the situation is or where the team currently stands and to me, that is a huge positive and determining factor in assessing the legitimacy and validity of a good HC.

Sure, the man has his shortcomings, but what young coach doesn't? I trust JG to get this **** straightened next year with either a healthy Romo or a young 1st or 2nd rd QB like Connor Cook, Jared Goff, or even someone like Cody Kessler. IF Redball can't get it straight next year ESPECIALLY with a healthy Romo, then i will regrettably be forced to give up on the man and admit that I was A) wrong about JG this whole time and B) that it is truly time for a COMPLETE rebuild here in Big D.

The main reason I am willing (and seemingly MUCH MORE willing than many others at the Zone) to keep putting all my eggs in the JG basket is because i just fear a "cleaning of the house" will do nothing but set this franchise back another 3-7 years (if not more) because lets be real: Who the **** are we gonna get to automatically step in and get this team going right away?

Unless we have some type of Gruden-Dungy situation right off the bat, I believe a new coach will mark the definitive end of the Romo-Witten-Lee-perhaps even Dez era, and i'm not ready to start rebuilding literally from straiight SCRATCH....Why do you "Garrett gotta gOoOo!!!" people not understand this? Or are y'all just okay with going back to the Quincy Carter- Dave Campo days of below-average repugnance? Please, I'm not trying to bash the JG haters, i'm just curious as to why yall dislike the Gingerbread ****.

Knowing this team, we will start to win games, end up at 7-9.

Please lose all the remaining games, thanks guys!

It's been awful. A season full of promise just completely derailed. And that MIA game was just a dead cat bounce for our hopes.

So it goes, sometimes.

that response right there basically represent my thoughts to a Tee. I believe this season has been worse than the Campo years simply because of HOW high the expectations were prior to the reg season start, and honestly until Romo went down vs Philly, I was fully convinced and completely on board with everything JG and co were reppin'. Unfortuntaely, that eagles game really truly ****ed our season up, and EVEN THEN, i had hope once we beat the Fins but alas! Sometimes these things just happen and hopefully it happened to us this year as a learning tool for us to build off of to exccel and win it all NEXT year. But who knows, maybe this is just the optimist in me not wanting to give up on a coach and team that realistically deserves to be given up on...i just don't know maaaaaaan...

This has been, without a doubt, the most disappointing season I've experienced as a fan.

We didn't enter the season just hoping to be good. We were EXPECTED to be good, and good enough to contend for the ultimate prize.

By my count, we've had exactly 1 good week this season, and that was the win in Miami. We won in Week 1 but lost Dez Bryant. We won in Week 2 but lost Tony Romo. Every other week has been awful, of course.

Losing to Carolina on Thanksgiving alone would have sucked. But to lose that game AND have Romo re-break the collarbone? Wow. It's almost comical at this point how cursed this season has been for the Cowboys. And in a season in which the rest of the division is terrible.

Silver lining for me: I'm also a die-hard Golden State Warriors fan (although the Cowboys will always be my #1 sports team), and the NBA gods have been pretty freakin' sweet to me since the start of last season. So I suppose I can't have it all. The Warriors season has been the exact opposite of this Cowboys season.

In my old age of 51 I do not get emotional after bad seasons. Romo going down pretty much guaranteed a crap season. What I am pissed at is Jerry blowing the QB replacement after/during Aikman. Then, when we finally got an awesome QB, he was happy with our atrocious OL and basically ruined the best years on Tony' career. With a healthy Romo we are a 10-12 win team. Without Romo we are a 3 win team. What the hell has Jerry done with all those picks???

Firing Garrett will only set us back if Jerry hires someone worse than him. I would hope if we entertain firing Garrett, Jerry would feel compelled to get a well respected coach. If we go after another stooge or experiment, God help us.

****.

The injury excuse again won't work with me. Remember the first 2 games the team was so lousy and unprepared .
In life when facing adversity you reinvent yourself and adapt.I have a little faith of winning anything as long as Jerry and his sons keep meddling in football operation. It is hard to wear so many hats and be successful .

Window slammed shut for a Superbowl when that Eagle broke Tonys collarbone, my only hope going forward is a third place finish so they play in England next year and I get to catch a game on Romos goodbye lap. At this stage I would be more suprised if they didn't get J football. I can't even enjoy Chip Kelly pooping the crib, everything is not awesome, everything blows the big one.

The team is not bereft of young talent. In fact, far from it. A good offseason with a likely top 5 pick with 3 more picks in the top 105, and also a decent amount of cap space. Things could be a lot worst than what they are in Dallas. Unfortunately there are 5 more games to play this season.
