Is it me or does Julius refuse to bounce outside when there is no hole in the middle? I am a Julius fan but when looking at some of his runs, it looks like the outside is wide open. But he just doesn't take it. I know some of it is B.P. doing. Last year against the Panthers he did it, and had 190 something yards. Our o-line doesn't look to good on run blocking, so he better get his vision back. Or maybe B.P. told him not to until the regular season.

He's got to run the way he runs and not how BP thinks he should run. I hate when coaches mess with someone's running style if it works.

I wonder if Bill doesn't pound on the north south thing and not turning a 1yd gain into a 3 yd loss.

i wonder if a NFL RB can see past 300 pound OL, and 270 puond DE, to see that there is no LB waiting to pop him, or CB that the WR is "suppose" to block

The blocking has to get better. Period.

The run blocking in the Carolina game was probably the best we saw the entire season. That allows the RB to gain some confidence and get into a flow, which leads to more cutbacks and confident slashes thru the LOS. When the blocking is piss poor as it was tonight, I'd have to imagine it's difficult to get into any type of flow, particularly when DL are consistently 1-2 yds in the backfield.

No, its not just you. I've always thought JJ has been a tentative runner inside since day one.

Running game was bad I think. Barber did have some good ones. Tyson broke one big @ the end of the game. Julius did not at all impress me. :(

I wondered about the whole "Bill changed his style thing" on one run where it appeared he could of ripped of at least 20-30 yards to his left but instead ran straight into a pile for a two yard loss.
The rest of the time the run blocking was atrocious.
MB3 seems to be better equipped to deal with the bad blocking at this point.

If JJ does not produce, Barber is in...Marion runs hard and has great instincts...JJ is simply becoming a one dimensional runner...straight speed...

I don't guess anyone noticed that the defenders were in Julius' face as soon as he was handed the ball. Please other than Barry Sanders, who could get away from that?

You mean like the coaches mess with a QB's throwing motion? :banghead:

If you'll look on any given play-by-play chart of a Cowboys game you'll also notice that Julius takes an inordinate number of negative yard plays compared to MB3 running behind the same blocking. MB3 may only get a yard out of it, but he keeps the team out of 2nd and 14.

funny i said the same thing at home tonight. I beleive that BP has said something to him about bouncing around, but thats julius's biggest asset and i dont know why they just wont turn him loose. Its very odd that in his rookie year I remember the giants game where the commentators were actually making barry sanders refrences, now he looks like just another back with all our backs. If you notice our rb's are always a move away from a long one J.J, MB3, and t.thompson they all have the speed but barber is a little stronger and hustles on every play, and if thompson can just wiggle a little he really would be a monster with that speed.

Julius had some good runs too. take away all those times of the offensive line letting him get blown up in the backfield and he has some nice numbers.

Sad but true.

All of JJ's big games have come on the outside.

I never have understood why we don't swing it out more.

Im guessing he is just trying to protect himself from injury right now. If he was to make a hard cut to the outside, and someone was to fall onto him at that time it would be pretty easy to twist, snap or break something. So, at least I hope, for now he is just taking it easy.

I'm just happy we have MArion Barber on the team. To me he runs harder, smarter and always finds a way to pick up the little extra yards. Watch him run inside where JJ would get stoped for a 1-2 yard gain, MB3 gets 5-6 yards on the same exact situation.

In my opinion right now Barber is the better back. Julius just doesnt have that " Juice" he had his first season here. I dont see the spark in his eyes anymore. It's like the hype got to him and now he's living in doubt..* reflecting thoughts*-Come on JJ snap out of it man, you were the next big thing:(
