Is it me or the 2019 schedule looks brutal?

Cowboys have the #1 toughest schedule in the whole NFL.

Eagles have one of the easiest. So do the Patriots.

Thank you, Goodell!!!!

Oh wait, there are those who don't believe in conspiracies or that Goodell's office (those around him) don't have it in for Jerry and the Cowboys

Nevermind. There is no conspiracy.
This is embarassing.

Do you realize the Cowboys schedule (like everyone's schedule) is known except for two opponents YEARS OUT? The two unknown opponents come from a known division but will be determined by how the Cowboys finish this year. Win the division and they play another division winner from known division. Come in 4th of the East and they'll play the 4th place finisher from said known division. For 2020 we will play an NFC North and NFC South opponent decided in this manner.

Exactly my point. Why hasn't a tougher team been replaced for either the Jets, Dolphins or Bills the past 20+ years? It's been smooth sailing for the Patriots to win their division and make the playoffs every year for the past 20+ years.
So.. because the other teams in the Pats division sucks... they should be replaced by another team?
Where do they go?
To another division to be replaced again?
It's not the Patriots' fault that their division stinks.

The Pats have had a cakewalk to the playoffs for at least a decade. The have 6 guaranteed wins every year except for the couple times the Dolphins beat them.
On the other hand our division is usually a tough one to play year in and year out and that is what makes our schedule seem more difficult.

I have noticed for the last 10 years or so, that whatever NFC and AFC division we draw, we are always on the road against the hardest teams.

And who created the formula? Do you honestly believe a formula is thoroughly followed?
It’s a known formula. 6 games (home/away) against division opponents. 4 games against an NFC division (this year the North) that rotates every year. 4 games against an AFC division (this year the East) that rotates every year. Then the final 2 games are against the same place finishers in the NFC divisions that you aren’t playing (this year the south and west).

It is the same way for every team and it isn’t changed. It can’t be tampered with.

Now, if you want to talk about when the teams are played and the placement of the bye week... then that is something that is open to bias.

As far as the win/loss record of your opponents though, that is set and written in stone.

If Washington has one of the easiest and Dallas has one of the hardest... then there isn’t that much difference between hard and easy because both teams play the same opponents except for two. Wash gets the 4th place finishers in the NFC South and West while Dallas gets the first place finishers in those divisions.

Except The Commanders have to play Dallas twice while Dallas gets to play Washington twice (which should make theirs more difficult and ours easier).

..with the exception of Jets & Dolphins, everyone else looks like a formidable challenge. According to some stats analysis, Dallas falls in the middle of things in terms of difficulty. Im hoping we can scrape 10 this year.

Pats along with Skins have the easiest. How does that even happen? SB winners should default to a difficult schedule. Prove yerself again.

Here's some more sugar: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...s-have-it-easiest-raiders-face-roughest-ride/

I never worry about the schedule other than the game 1 opponent.

Teams vary too much in recent years to really know which opponents will be the most difficult (other than the Pats).

I never want the Pats for game 1.

You're saying the Cowboys, Commanders, Giants and Eagles play the same 4 non-divisional NFC teams and same 4 AFC teams? Is that how the formula works, or are there different (easier or harder NFC and AFC division opponents for both the Cowboys, Eagles, Giants and Commanders)?

Yes. All the NFC East teams will play every team in the NFC North. So Chicago, Detroit, Minn. and GB will all play each NFC East team.

The NFC East will also play the AFC East, so Dallas and the other 3 will play the Jets, Dolphins, Bills, and Patriots.

That is 8 of the games on all 4 NFC East teams schedule. They’re the exact same.

Six of the games will be divisional games against each other. All of those are the same for all 4 teams.

The only difference is two games where the east will play the two teams in the NFC West and South that placed the same in their division.

So: Dallas was first in the East, meaning they’ll play the Rams (#1 in the west) and the Saints (#1 in the South). The Giants (4th place) will play the Cards (4th in west) and the Bucs (4th in South).

All of this means that all opponents except two are the same for each of the NFC East teams.

And it is set in stone every year. The NFC and AFC divisions rotate each year.

Gotcha. Thanks for that explanation. I still don't agree with having to play the Rams and the Saints once again, while the Giants get rewarded for making dumb decisions.

Your joking, right?

14 of the 16 games are known in advance for years to come.

Dallas plays 6 divisional games, 4 games against an NFC division that rotates every year, and 4 games against an AFC division that aslo rotates every year.

The two games you don't know are the two NFC division opponents that finished in the same position in the standings the previous year.

That's the formula, it's straight forward and transparent. The only thing you don't know are the dates.

Y’all are such fools. Goodell don’t make the schedule. The schedule is predetermined every year besides two games based off of how you ranked in the division the previous season. Jeez some people in here have zero knowledge of anything football
