Is it odd that Ceedee Lamb isn't getting touches in a contract year

It isn't odd....it's the offense. Lamb isn't getting the ball. Cooks isn't getting the ball. Ferg isn't getting the ball. Schoon isn't getting the ball.

Notice a pattern here? It's crystal clear what the problem is. As I continue to preach, FIX THE PROBLEM. Trading for Adams won't fix the offense. Trading for Henry won't fix the offense. Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic is just a waste of time and won't accomplish anything.
Lamb is far and away the leading receiver for Dallas. The complete receiver group will pick up both receptions and yardage starting this weekend.

You seem emotionally needy.
Best wishes, me queen.
Well, I guess that makes as much sense as any of your other replies.

Obviously, and typically, you avoid a direct response and resort to insults.

Not a good look, but I’m sure that’s nothing new for you.

He is getting the ball. I think we are seeing though that he is an okay WR1- He is probably the 20th best WR in the league or so.

I think we think of him as a top 5 WR, at least we thought he could be come that. He isn't nearly fast enough or quick enough to become that- he is what he is- still impacts the game but definitely far from elite in my eyes

No one is getting touches in the passing game. Dak is 22nd in attempts and 19th in completions.

Lamb isn't anywhere near those guys.
 I'll see your stat and raise you two...

That's the way it works. Next year is the first year he is eligible to re-negotiate a new contract.. Lamb has all the leverage.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill: $30 million.
Raiders WR Davante Adams: $28 million.
Rams WR Cooper Kupp: $26.7 million.
Eagles WR A.J. Brown: $25 million.
Bills WR Stefon Diggs: $24 million.
Seahawks WR D.K. ...$24 million.
49ers WR Deebo Samuel: $23.9 million.

You think Lamb's going to play for $17 Millions? No Chance
If we pay him anything like that then we are insanely dumb- there is a huge difference between lamb and those guys. Let someone else make that mistake.

No doubt, at his age and production...no problem right into that club.

CeeDee Lamb is barely a #1 WR. He isn't fighting to get open on double teams extending plays like other #1 WRs around the league. PLUS this QB is hesitant to throw to any WR that isn't completely wide open. Lamb is too skinny and doesn't have the physical build like many other top WRs.
Also 4.5 speed is slow.

Not really because CD is the team's best receiver so he gets the double coverage more often on the outside. Mikes play calling doesn't help at all. They should move him inside more where he excels.

Man, I do like Lamb as a player, he's just not a top tier #1. He's very good, and would excel mightily as a co #1. You just couldn't pay both top dollar.

I would dearly hate to lose Lamb, but he's just not a 20+ mil player.

The notion that the Cowboys would attempt to keep the ball away from Cee Dee to weaken his contract leverage is absolute hogwash!! This man is our BEST WEAPON on offense, and he affects the game even when he isn't involved in the play because the opposing defense has to account for him.. Both Mike McCarthy and Dakota P. jobs are in jeopardy, neither is guaranteed to be back in Dallas next season, so obviously they have great motivation to involve Cee Dee as much as possible.

Any new contract Lamb gets doesn't start until 2025. So yes, he'll play for the 17M next year whether he likes it or not. Follow me here.

End 2020. First year of rookie contract.
End 2021. Second year
End 2022. 3rd year. At this point Lamb was eligible for an extension. But Dallas didn't give him one.
End 2023. This is the 4th year of his rookie contract. The end of this season is no different than the end of last season. Dallas could extend him. Extensions do not replace existing contracts, they add to the end.
2024. 5th year option
2025. This is when any extension he gets after this season will start. You can't eliminate any of the years prior to this, and replace it with something else. That's not how their rules work. You can restructure the numbers, but the money is the same.

We're probably in the minority here. I think he's a very good WR, but I don't pay him 20-25 million a year. There is one thing that might get him that contract however. How often has he been hurt? Availability is like gold in the NFL.

Top in targets on the team. . . . .
Yet hovering around the Chris Olaves 24ish overall in production metrics.
It's great to have CD, but his ceiling is too high for huge numbers in this simplified system.

Current Receptions leading into week 8
CD 34
Pollard 25
Ferguson 21
Gallup 18
Cooks 13
Gallup and Cooks have to quickly become much more dramatic in nature. Game type slamming with them.

He'll play for 17 M next year but he'll get a massive signing bonus when he signs a new contract next year.

Lamb is up to get paid, and to get paid nicely, but we've kind of seen this around here before. Said player is in a contract year, and let's phase them out the offense a bit. If this has any possible truth to it (I don't think it does), it's wrong as hell!! Doing something like this just to benefit yourselves in contract talks is a joke. Please give your thoughts
He’s leading the team in targets so don’t get what you are saying
