DLaw was on my post June 1 cut list.Isn't it rather odd that Lawrence is the 2nd highest cap hit this season for the Cowboys at $19,856,400?
Next off season you may get your wish, it's all up to KneelandDLaw was on my post June 1 cut list.
looooooooooooooooooooooooooool forgot about thatD Law is still tired, maybe he’ll have some energy back by training camp and he’ll be able to speak to teammates
You should see the lost look on the faces of kids that I hire when I tell them their phone stays in the truck. The difference between young and old. Old can easily stay off social media. Old even decides to stay off social media. Young are addicted to social media , can't be without social media.
I don't think Lawrence is going anywhere this year if that's what you mean. The Cowboys save very little by cutting him now. I think Zimmer wants to have stronger end play against the run, so now he has a candidate to provide that at right end while Lawrence does it at left end. Next year is a different question because they would have to re-sign Lawrence. I don't know at this point based on what he's seen from the team that he would expect to be re-signed here. All he can do is play well enough that some other team is willing to throw a little money at him as his career winds down. You don't think, in the back D-Laws mind, that if Kneeland pulls a Parsons than management is going to wonder why they need to spend 20 million on a 32 year old?
We were looking for reason why he wouldn't have communicated with Kneeland by now, and I gotta say, I think I have a pretty strong candidate here.
I was kind of half-serious. I'm sure there is some dead money issue that makes this academic. Besides, we want him to continue to be an example to the younger players. He doesn't have to be a mentor, just an example of how to approach the game on a professional level.I don't think Lawrence is going anywhere this year if that's what you mean. We let Dorance Armstrong leave in free agency, and I doubt he just wants to count on Williams being a run-stopping end at right end. And I don't think Parsons is going to play end on early downs.
I don't try to read players' minds because we just end up with pointless speculation on motive. I think we can read the tea leaves a little better concerning the moves that the team has made or has not made.
I'm not sure of his mentorship. He seems to be one of the leaders of the team on defense, for whatever that's worth. I'm not sure I've ever heard any player talking about Lawrence taking them under his wings, though. May just not be who he is. I think there are some players, like Jason Witten, for example, so focused on being the best that they can be that they are just not good at teaching others. It's funny now since Witten is a coach, and apparently a pretty good one, because I don't know if I ever heard anyone praise his mentorship and I know at least one TE said he wasn't much help to him.I was kind of half-serious. Doesn't matter. We now live in a world where feelings are hurt if they dont speak in social media.....sadI saw the interview with Kneeland saying he sent a request to the social media account for D-law, but he never responded. Is he that busy (which is understandable he has a life too), or could it be he wants to get to know him better first when he arrives in town?
Could we spin in another way and say "hey this is my replacement, i'm not ready to speak with him yet???" Or if it was a more "known" player drafted, would he have reached out to sooner (ex Jared Verse/Dallas Turner) Please give your thoughts. I'm sure Micah would have reached out quickly too, guys are probably like "who is this kid!??" lol
I think it may be because Tank has the secret map to El Dorado and is worried that Kneeland is after the gold.I saw the interview with Kneeland saying he sent a request to the social media account for D-law, but he never responded.
