Is it really this simple? Shanahan wanted TO...

..........om Denver.... so Shanahan already knows that there would not be any "dealing with TO" because he would use him to HIS STRENGTHS. He would consider TO a MAJOR ASSET. TO welcomes that. Voila!

Wade moves to DC because he is a good guy and wants to do whats best for the TEAM.

Shanahan would also implement his WCO which is exactly what TO wants and don't forget his connection to Romo. He's liked him from the beginning and Romo's skills fit the WCO to a tee.

Exactly what I have been saying for 2 weeks. But everyone though I was bonkers and it wouldn't happen. Especially Wade going to DC. There is nowhere else that would pay him $3 million to DC and there is only the Jets 34 that is vacant right now for that type of DC. Wades going to DC for us.

I wrote this idea off as soon as it crossed my mind.

I just don't think Wade would want to be that good of an old boy. And who's to say Shanahan wants him as his DC. I'm hoping Jerry will give him the luxury of choosing one for himself.

If - and this is the biggest problem with the whole scenario - but if the O-line situation could get resolved, can you imagine what Shanny can do with Felix, Barber and Choice?

This is one of many reasons Shanahan is a great fit for this team.

Let me just say.

We have a window of about 2 years here with TO... I just want a HC thats gonna finish closing the TO deal.

The TO DEAL = he was brought in to make us better and help us win. Period.

Put all the hatred aside. THAT is the goal. Winning a SB.

Look at whats happening here. The bottom of the barrel teams are in the final four.

Our talent should beat all four of those teams on the same weekend. Pitch and catch Romo to TO, Romo to RWR, Romo to Witten... Barber breaks some heads.... Felix blurr's past everyone.

Great post.

We have certain blockheads on this forum who can't put thier hatred or need to be right aside.
They can not do it! They sooner see us lose just so they can say I told you so.
The thought of a smiling Owens holding up the Lombardi in a Cowboy uni is more than they can bare. They'd sooner see McNabb holding it up.

Hate losing Garrett. He could've offered us a highly successful looong-term solution for HC.
Guess is just wasn't meant to be.
Either way, there appears to be just too much evidence suggesting that he failed us this year as our OC.

On to Shanahan.

The change to Shanahan can help for many reasons. #1 reason is simply that he offers a new and credible voice.

Perhaps this team has been somewhat tainted. Somewhat infected with the wrong atmosphere. Shanahan could cure that.

Shanahan needs a few things to succeed and as fate would have it, all these things appear to be in Dallas.

1) Strong personel dept. Check out our player acquisitions these past 2 seasons.
2) Franchise QB. Check.
3) Tope notch Defensive Coordinator. Check. Maybe?

#3 concerns me. Too many people are just assuming Wade excepts a demotion. It does make some sense since he's sure to never get another head coaching gig. But the move would still be unprecidented.

To my knowledge, no HC as ever excepted a demotion to coordiantor.

IIRC, Shanahan also offered TO way less money in an incentive-laden contract and pretty made it clear he wouldn't put up with any BS.

So it's not like Shanahan wanted TO just as much as Jerry did.

Can I just say this.

In 2004 the Eagles won three playoff games without an injured Terrell Owens to get into the Super Bowl.

Then he came back for the Super Bowl and they lost.

This notion that the Dallas Cowboys can't win a Super Bowl unless he's on the team is just plain silly.

The Pats won a all their SB's without Owens....Giants won last year without Owens...

Is that your point?

Philly didnt lose the SB because Owens was playing...in fact in could be debated that Owens should up big in that game and McFlabb didn't.

My point is that one player doesn't determine whether you win or lose football games.

And the point was that he did play well in that game and they still lost. So acting like it's the end of the world if he's not here is just silly.

The Cowboys have more than enough talent to win football games if he's gone.

They have very good players at WR, TE, RB, OL and QB.

Terrell Owens isn't the only player on the freaking team.

With some of these stupid posts you would think he is.

'We have a window of about two years here with T.O.'

That statement scream out loud the following things.

1. Once he's gone we aren't going to win.

2. I hope we win FOR him, not for the other players but for him.

3. He's the most important part of the offensive puzzle.

On #1 - Once again, teams have won Super Bowls without Terrell Owens.

On #2 - When did it become the 'Dallas Terrell Owens' we were rooting for?

On #3 - The QB is and always will be the most important piece of any offensive puzzle at any level of football.

Can I just add to this.

The Eagles got to three straight title games and lost without TO

TO got to Philly and they darn near went undefeated in 14 games. 13-1 with TO. They were a different team with him. Yes they held down the fort for a few games without him. Big deal.

We havent proven we can do that.

That SB loss was ALL on McChunky and his 3 or 4 INTs.... or was he forcing the ball to TO also?

Brought this up in another thread but I will repeat here.

7 of our other 10 offensive starters beside TO have gone to the Pro Bowl at least once.

I think Felix is a shoe in to get there in some capacity some day too, but I'm a Felix Homer.

Yeah yeah, I know Pro Bowl, voting, unfair, blah. But still you can't tell me a team with that many players who have played to a level to get there is going to utterly flop when you take out one WR.

Since Garrett is coming back and Spags is going to St Louis, does that mean Capers comes to Dallas? I could live with that...regardless if Shanahan is coming or not. Hell, I'd take Mike Nolan, Rex Ryan or even the Manusky guy from SF49ers...

Yeah, winning playoff games is no big deal.
