Is it the worst thing if Beebe does not start?

Sounds like Hoffman is off to a great start. Is it the worst thing if Beebe does not start and works on his snaps and other nuances of the position and next year fights it out with Hoffman or is the possible slide in replacement for Martin if he retires or we do not resign?

CB is all American / all conf.

Hoffman is a scrub. He’s been there a season. So he has a slight advantage.

But not for long.

I would say it's too early for the depth chart being a few days into the padded practices.

All depends on how Hoffman looks.
Is he Biadasz level, Gurode level or Costa level starter?

No it's not, gives him time to learn etc, wasn't like he was a first round pick. I see your frustration, but the fact that we have depth didn't really help his cause. In time he'll be in, or maybe next season just keep him at guard

i agree. If Hoffman has become a stud. Awesome. It seems (and we've been fooled before) that at least the interior of that line is pretty solid for the next couple of years.

Coog not frustrared at all. Actually could be a positive if Hoffman improved to the point where he is a good solid center and Beebe learns and gets stronger he could step right in for Martin and if things play out right we could fall right into a very solid young offensive line

I will just say ....don't sleep on Hoffman. High IQ, can play all three interior positions but the center position is his home, an academic guy in college, maybe he could be another Fredbeard with time and coaching. That would be great coz it would allow Beebe to settle in at RG. Our OLine would be set for the next 4-5 years except RT.

I'll be for real, I think he is a RG and replaces Martin eventually not a C. I don't get the trying to force him into an unnatural position thing.

No, the worst thing would be if Beebe was forced to start right away. The guy is a 3rd round pick who has barely played C, it's completely normal for him to need a year of development time before being NFL ready. Having a guy like Hoffman who has looked good early in camp is the best possible scenario. I'm a huuuge Beebe fan, but year 1 expectations coming out of the draft were way too high.

Don't believe the Hoffman hype. Beebe is the better player, it will just take some time before the coaches give in.

Mike has said that Beebe just looks like a Center. I’ve heard the snaps need to be better so when that happens I assume it will all come together. This is a good problem to have folks.

May the best guy start, as it should be with all positions. I'm happy with the Bebe pick if he starts or doesn't. As a 3rd round pick he could be one of the better backup guards/centers or he could be in line to be the right guard when Martin leaves at seasons end.
