Is it the worst thing if Beebe does not start?

This is the position battle that I have my eye on the most. I hated Biadasz and felt he got no push up the middle and was often overpowered. I see the same thing in Hoffman from the last Training Camp Live video on DC.com yesterday. I will leave my full judgement to the preseason games but I thought the push up the middle and how Beebee was able to handle and move his defender was much more noticeable. I really hope he gets his snaps down.

Play the best guys regardless of reputation, potential, or draft position. If Hoffman worked his butt off to make himself better, and Beebe cannot beat him out, then good for the Cowboys. Maybe Beebe will work harder to make himself better than Hoffman.

Coog not frustrared at all. Actually could be a positive if Hoffman improved to the point where he is a good solid center and Beebe learns and gets stronger he could step right in for Martin and if things play out right we could fall right into a very solid young offensive line
Sorry about that no hard feelings

It doesn't matter the coaches will pick whoever is the best but what I saw at a Hoffman and bass were completely opposite of what you're saying I mean last year they were way more physical so anything's an improvement over last year's center in my opinion... If you look at the run game when Hoffman and bass were subbing when they were injuries it was better and now we have some other choices our run game is gonna be improved just because of the changes we made...

Biadasz was terrible. I mentioned it in live chat all the time. Glad he's gone.

Hopefully Beebe can take the spot in camp, otherwise we could've had a RB or anything else.

No, Beebe will be fine. It's just a matter of time before he will be the starting center.

I expect both Hoffman and Beebe to be better than Biadasz.
while this is true, I don't care who wins the job literally needs to be the best man coming out of camp but mostly in the preseason games.. I hope they both get number one snaps because it's going to be how somebody's firing out over you, especially on the snap for shotgun and not have them sail over the head or roll across the ground and all that kind of stuff, I don't care how physical you are and you're blocking it's going to matter at the consistency of the snaps and not stepping on the quarterbacks foot coming off the line correctly being able to pull there's a lot involved in the center. I think the physicality are going to be both improved no matter which of these two dudes win the job it's going to be the best snapper obviously the most consistent guy is going to win... You will lose a game because a center just having one or two bobbles...

It's a marathon not a sprint, it's still very early in camp.......I'll wait until the preseason games starts to make a judgement on either...

I will just say ....don't sleep on Hoffman. High IQ, can play all three interior positions but the center position is his home, an academic guy in college, maybe he could be another Fredbeard with time and coaching. That would be great coz it would allow Beebe to settle in at RG. Our OLine would be set for the next 4-5 years except RT.

uh, no I really think you need to tap the brakes. Fredbeard was a future HOF cheated by disease. You seem to forget just how great he was

If you get beat out by Brock Hoffman in anything you are a loser at life. I think we all can agree on that.

Bust. Move on.

Sounds like Hoffman is off to a great start. Is it the worst thing if Beebe does not start and works on his snaps and other nuances of the position and next year fights it out with Hoffman or is the possible slide in replacement for Martin if he retires or we do not resign?
I think we'll look a lot like we did on the interior if Beebe doesn't start. Beebe represents a power upgrade at center. Hoffman is more like replacing Biadasz with Biadasz. In fact, it's questionable if he'll even be that good. I mean, this was a player that we waived at the end of camp last year. I'm hoping he's improved so much that we're breathing a sigh of relief that we got him back. The good thing if he ends up being the center by default because Beebe either isn't as good as some of us think or just can't learn center that quickly is whoever is at center will benefit from having Tyler on his left and Martin on his right.

No it’s a great thing. Why would it not be? It means Hoffman is better at this point and time and you have a rookie chomping at the bit behind him. I couldn’t think of a better situation.

One guy here says he’s a top 10 center.

Mike has said that Beebe just looks like a Center. I’ve heard the snaps need to be better so when that happens I assume it will all come together. This is a good problem to have folks.
No doubt. Wish there was this type of competition at all positions. Offensive Line is full of young bucks trying to be the starter.

He would be an excellent backup at center and guard.

Bass will be the starter at RG in a year after Martin retires. Hoffman is just a bridge player for when CB eventually takes that job. Its a nice problem to have. WE are deep at oline, unlike last year.
