Why re-visit Amari again ?
it's done and gone, and we just have to move on.

First of all - It was personal upfront first, they've grew not to like him, internally they apparently thought his demeanor was detrimental to the team.

Second - they came to a conclusion that they didn't think he was worth the 20 million they initially decided to give him per free agency.

Griping, finger pointing and crying a river over Amari happening is not gonna help us now- we have to re-create a way to improve the WR unit
and it can be just as Eagles bumbled the Jalen Reagor draft pick but really rebounded and restocked their WR unit big time
with productive moves and tools such as AJ Brown and Devontae Smith. .

I was in favor of not resigning him, but it was criminal not to sign a big FA to replace him.

ceedee lamb ended this debate.
not that its CD's fault but the main reason his numbers were as good as they were was because Dak predetermined he was going to him on a lot of plays regardless of other guys running wide open.

there's two sides to the cooper issue...i don't think you get the breakout from Ceedee if he's still here...however, i think they relied too much on expecting gallup to be 100% recovered from that torn acl which was pretty crazy.... in all honesty, they probably should've waited one more year before trading him and kept Gallup on IR most of the year or took more steps to get a cheaper yet still established veteran during free agency.

It was dumb, because Amari as a WR is far better than Dak as a QB. It was just another move to mask the elephant in the room.

The reality is the Browns has zero QB play for large stretches of the season, still was over 1000 yards and had 9 TDs, the most he ever notched in a season and he was playing on GRASS in an outside stadium, with Cleveland winters. The more Watson gets to play, the more optimism for Cleveland fans.

Us on the other hand have Dak.

I had no issue with trading Cooper. He was not the answer. His lack of urgency in big games was a downer. But yes, they needed another WR with comparable talent. And the 5th round pick was just an awful deal for Dallas.

I was never a big fan of the Cooper trade (to get him) and I was less happy with the compensation we got for him from Cleveland. But every time Jerry makes a bad deal like that the consequences will eventually come back to bite the team. Remember, this is a team that refuses to sign top tier free agents to big contracts so the best they can hope to do is hit players in the draft. Draft picks are the team's currency. This is why taking only a 5th for Cooper, and nothing for La'El Collins, was worse than Dak throwing 2 painful interceptions in the divisional playoff game.
