Is it too early to do this? Honest Predictions

Like others, I'm waiting to see where we stand (injury wise) at the end of training camp before I make any predictions. I see a lot of people predicting a win against the Vikings. That is one game that is interesting to me and will speak to the mettle and defensive toughness of this team IMO. That may sound crazy but, we all know that it's going to be the Adrian Peterson show and the one worry I have about this defense is going to be their ability to stop the run. We have a LIGHT defensive middle and defending the run is my big issue with this defense. I'm not saying they CAN'T do it but, until I see it, it's my biggest concern. If they prove that they are weak stopping the run then AP is going to have a field day.

Not saying we are going to have a good run defense but in 2011 we had a top 5 rushing D and was #1 for most of the season. We should have a better D now so I don't see any reason we can't be good.

With about 1/3 of the starting positions up for grabs where somebody needs to"
"step up" I would say it is definitely too early to make predictions. I would say that 8-8 is the starting point, the team should be at least that good.

I'll go 9-7. Maybe if all things go well and get a few lucky bounces a couple of close games will turn out wins.

The team has taken the "just get in and see what happens" idea as their primary train of thought. They've been borderline out of the playoffs the last two years and are only modestly addressing key weaknesses like OL and less than modestly addressing the S position. They seem to really believe that if they can just sneak into the playoffs that will be the one team who magically turns it on.

I don't have a good feeling with this thing. There's plenty to like, and I'll be the first to admit predictions are both silly and not my thing. However, if I had to give an honest prediction I'd have us at 6-10. Overly pessimistic? Quite likely. It's just what it feels like at this point.
